COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional dry Irish stout, full flavoured yet smooth. Roasted barley flavours are nicely complemented by notes of vanilla and aniseed. Enjoy with robust meat dishes or on it’s own off the shelf. Contains a yeast sediment, store upright and pour carefully. Best served at room temperature.

[email protected] Cafe, Cork. Black with a light brown coloured head. The aroma is gentle roasted with bitterness, and the flavour is dry and bitter with good roastedness. Overall a nice dry stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can’t say there’s anything wrong with this stout, it was fresh and well carbonated but not a lot going on in the flavours for me. A good stout but little to have it stand out from the others.

Bottle. Very dark brown with a lively brown head, very lively. Blackened malts, a touch of aniseed and coffee, dry roasty finish with some fruit acids. Very nice for 4.5%, but a touch gassy.

ASPETTO: marrone scuro, praticamente nero impenetrabile. Schiuma bianca e grossolana, poco persistente. AROMA: tostato, prevalenti caffè e liquirizia. Note legnose. GUSTO: tanta liquirizia, soprattutto nel retrogusto. tostato predominante. Secca al punto giusto. Abbastanza equilibrata, leggermente tendente all’amaro dato dal tostato.

UXO (1896) - CANADA - MAR 17, 2016
Appearance: nearly opaque deep brown with brown highlights, two fingers of fluffy beige head, excellent retention and chunky lacing. (4/5) Aroma: roasty grain, cocoa, vanilla, liquorice, coffee. (7/10) Taste: low sweet, moderate bitter, light tart. (7/10) Palate: medium-full body, moderate carbonation, dry moderate bitter finish. (3/5) Decent dry Irish Stout. Still a definite tendency to an overwhelming loose and fluffy head, though - the only way I kept this one from getting completely out of hand was an exaggerated horizontal and slow pour. Nice low sweetness, though, with roasty tones and maybe a hint of red berry tartness. (14/20)
