COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A flavoursome, fruity Irish red ale, which uses crystal malt to give a caramel character that is balanced by a light dash of bittering hops. Perfect accompaniment to most meat and game dishes. Contains a yeast sediment - store upright and pour carefully. Best served at room temperature.

Delightful beer to enjoy in the Blarney Castle cafeteria after kissing the Blarney Stone!

Creedence (309) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 2, 2013
500ml bottle after dinner in Market Lane. Pours a deep copper/red with a lasting off-white foam. Aroma of apples, citrus, redcurrant and caramel. Medium caramel sweetness with a nice citrus finish. Slightly dry, lingering hops and smooth carbonation. Worked very well as an after-dinner beer, very light and refreshing.

A little too bitter and metallic in the end, but a great copper colour with a quite complex flavour.

UPDATED: JUL 21, 2014 Revisited 19-JUL-14 - pours dark amber with white head. Aroma is malty and caramel. Taste follows - malty/caramel - more flavour than similar ales of this profile. This isn’t my favourite style but good version

ciaranc (1102) - Dublin, IRELAND - DEC 15, 2012
Hand pump @ L Mulligan Grocer. Brilliant copper poor, lovely foamy white head. Not much aroma, some dusty malt, orange peel. Nice fruit caramel notes in the flavour, not shy of hop bitterness in the finish. Smooth mouth feel, flat carbonation. Suits hand pump well, I like it.

Bottle at home from drinkstore
some chocolate and orange peel notes. Medium bodied, chocolate, caramel, touch of astringency, cocoa and toffee in finish.

Dogbrick (13010) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - NOV 26, 2012
Bottle at Courtney’s in Killarney. The beer is a slighly hazy reddish-copper color with a medium thin and foamy off-white head that burns away quickly. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of grain and caramel. Light-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, slight hops and a bit of cardboard. The finish is semi-sweet with a short earthy malt aftertaste. Barely average overall.

Assaggiata alla spina, niente di eclatante, meglio tornare alla stout...prevalenza di malto caramellato
