UPDATED: DEC 3, 2012 05-10-2012: On tap at L’Amère à Boire. Unclear golden/amber with a small persistent creamy white head and good lacing. Aroma of mango, guava and tropical fruits at first and then floral hops. Taste of tropical fruits and malt with a floral/resinous hoppy finish. Medium carbonation. Mouthfeel is dry. Very good refreshing IPA. [8-4-8-3-15=3.8] Bottle (341 ml). Hazy peach color with a medium creamy off-white and and heavy lacing. Aroma of herbal tea, guava, tropical fruits and light malt notes. Soft and complex. Taste is also of herbal tea (more present than in aroma), guava, malt, slight caramel and a slight hoppy finish (less than what I remember from the draft version). Body is a bit thin (not watery), but I was expecting it because of the herbal tea. Very good balance and interesting creativity. There’s no doubt that Dunham are now among the best in Quebec for bottled APA, IPA, Black IPA and the list goes on... i’m extremely impressed by their products lately.

Difficult to say that the can be tasted, but something in the taste profile hints of other ingredients than simply malt, yeast and hops. There is a fruityness that should come from the guava, and it very nicely balances the otherwise piney hop profile. A very nice IPA

This is the Leo’s Early Breakfast IPA from Brasserie Dunham in Canada brewed in collaboration with Danish brewery Kissmeyer Beer. It’s an IPA coming in at 6.2% ABV and 54 IBUs. It’s brewed with Earl Gray tea and guava puree – interesting! It pours out a murky dark amber colored body with a big fluffy white head. There’s a bunch of yeast sediment floating around the beer – actually I don’t think that I’ve ever had an IPA with this much yeast in the bottle! It litterally is a ’breakfast IPA’ I guess. Bad jokes aside. The aroma is actually quite complex. I get a lot of juicy and piney hops, Cascade maybe? Some really fruity and sweet tropical notes, and then a bit of the Earl Gray tea underneath the hops. It smells really great, so let’s give it a go! The taste is a little bit piney and dank up front, you then get that herbal tea notes and fruityness in the middle followed again by a dry piney bitter finish. Really interesting stuff! It sure is bitter, and you definitely get the tea in there.

zbyt wysokie wysycenie, aromat jeszcze obiecujący, ale w smaku jakaś herbaciana gorycz, jakieś metaliczne posmaki, owoc zanika, jest to piwo do szybkiego wypicia i równie szybkiego zapomnienia

Well it smells so good, you don’t have to drink it. Absolutely intoxicating smell. In the taste it is very bitter and to citrus/fruity as the blg count is low. Make it imperial...

Bottle. Pours hazy orange with frothy white head - slowly diminishing, good lacing. Aroma is peachy and floral with notes of tea. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter, peachy, zesty, grassy, some floral hops and tea. Long, herbal bitter finish. Medium body and carbonation. Intriguing idea.

Pours a hazy golden/reddish color with a small bubbly white head. Mango, tropical fruit nose. There is also some bready and malty notes with some strong grasy notes as well. Mouthfeel is extremely dry but well balanced. It’s really different. Not a ton of hoppyness. It is pretty complex in it’s aroma’s. I like it
