Yorker (2003) - Herning, DENMARK - SEP 13, 2015
34 cl bottle @ home. Pours dark brown with a little sediment and a light tan head that leaves a lot of lacing. Aroma and flavour are roasted malt, coffee, grapefruit, and pine - with a roasted and bitter finish.

Bottle from the brewery. Black with burgundy highlights under a huge pillowy khaki head that lingers and leaves great lace all the way down. Nose has tons of espresso, chocolate, molasses, pine and resin with floral notes and hints of vanilla. Light sweet support for a prominent coffee and chocolate bitterness and herbal notes in the finish. Medium+ creamy body with average carbonation and a lingering dry bitter finish. Great example of my favourite style.

Idiosynkrasie (7516) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - SEP 6, 2015
341ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with huge, creamy, fully lasting, moderately lacing, beige to tan head. Roasty dark malty, chocolately aroma, notes of coffee, piney, resinous, citrusy and leafy hoppy overtones. Taste is dry, bitter hoppy, minimally papery, chalky and medicinal bitterness, a touch of pine and resin, roasty dark malty basis, slightly watery passages. Sadly a loss of fruitiness in taste.

Flavour is light sweet and medium to heavy bitter. Medium bodied, thick texture, soft carbonation. Finish is roasted, resinous and a little unbalanced.

Stoned99 (1549) - St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 28, 2015
341 ml from Bières et Délices. Aroma: roasted malt, coffee and some tropical fruits. App: Dark brown, almost black, medium beige head, nice lacing, good retention. Taste and plate: medium creamy body, light sweetness, medium carbonation, medium high dry bitter and fruity finish. Overall: Had this one before but never had the chance to rate it so again, A great DIPA. Right on the style. Wish it smelled more fruity though. Great job Dunham.

TheJester (2542) - Cavan Monaghan, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 7, 2015
341 mL bottle. Stout brown, with a nice, foamy, light brown head. Roast/coffee from the malt is at the forefront of the aroma, with some piney, resinous hops along for the ride. The flavour is nicely balanced as well; this is as roasty a black IPA as I’ve tasted. But that’s not to say that the hops fade into the background; this beer is balanced.
