Pours a hazy yellow / dark gold color with a medium white head. Aroma of spices, yeast and fruity hops. Flavor of fruity hops, spices and yeast with mild bitterness in the end. The body is medium with an oily texture and medium carbonation. It’s not bad, but Dunham’s American Pale Ale and English IPA are far superior products.

341 ml bottle purchased at Peluso (Montreal), on May 15, 2011. Hazy golden honey, small head. Citrus hoppy aroma, hints of spicy malt. Slightly hoppy taste of grass, hints of lemons, very grassy bitterness. Like any other Belgian IPA, this is not really good!

Bottle: Poured a clear amber color ale with a nice foamy head with OK retention and some limited lacing. Aroma consists of pungy hops with a semi-sweet malt base that makes things quiet interesting. Taste is a mix between some floral hops with light funky notes and a solid semi-sweet Belgian malt backbone. Body is about average with good carbonation. Well brewed though hops profile could be even more intense.

Pours pale amber, quite murky (obviously, yeast). Quite a decent white head on this one with rather good retention and big lace. Aroma is mainly between citrus hops and floral hops. Yeast is detectable, but probably not as much as I expected to. Hint of caramel malt as well. Taste is surprisingly peppery. It’s certainly yeasty, but not exactly bready-yeasty, and is pretty heavy on grapefruit. Might be too effervescent. Good finale. All in all : I kinda like this. Lacks malt balance and peppery taste was totally unexpected (not bad, though).

Bouteille 341ml.

UPDATED: OCT 28, 2013 Rerate from a 750 ml bottle. Hazy golden pour with a thick white head. The aroma is quite lovely. A fairly juicy mango and apricot hop note along with a bit of fruity yeastiness as well. Moderate bitterness with a touch of lingering sweetness as well. There is a little bit of soft lingering fruit as well. The body is a little bit light, but it’s a whole lot better than I gave it credit for the first time around. Amber pour with a tight creamy white head. The aroma is softly spicy with notes of black pepper, pine and a hint of grapefruit. The yeast is surprisingly restrained with some light clove notes but little else to suggest it’s presence. It is fresh and dry with a very assertive bitterness. It’s decent, but doesn’t blow my mind. 7 3 6 3 14

(Rating #3544)

On tap at Vice et Versa. Pours a hazed golden amber with a medium sized white head. Soft yeast, light hops. Toast and malt, lightly sweet with faint hop and earth notes. Soft sweet finish, toast and a light hoppy bitterness.

Clear dark yellow body and a good creamy head on top. Soft hoppy IPA aroma. Flavour is smooth IPA malts with an average level of bitterness. Well crafted IPA but nothing extraordinary.
