BeerBeCue (103) - Montreal, Quebec, - OCT 5, 2012
341ml bottle poured into stem glass. Pours a very deep black with a tiny head which quickly fades to good-sized ring. Aroma ivery roasty and coffee-like with some black chocolate notes. Taste is light-medium bitter from the roastyness. Body is medium with a thin-slick texture. Carbonation is very soft. Finish is slightly astringent with some slight bitterness, but of course nothing compared to their black IPA. Overall, a good robust porter, but Ive had better. Im thinking about Hill Farmsteads Everett here but I guess the comparison isnt very fair. Pretty enjoyable but it doesnt stand out that much.

Gluepot (557) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 25, 2016
Im a bit late to this party! My loss. A massive tan head (Dunham could pull back on the explosiveness of some of its beers on opening!) that thins out quickly like a cola head over a near black body. The nose has nice roasted and bitter elements with roasted dark coffee, cocoa and some caramel sweetness. The taste follows through on those roasty and bitter themes with bitter dark roast coffee, unsweetened cocoa, earthy hops and scorched caramel. Other spices hang in the background. A rich, dense and deeply tasty 6%er.
