Bottled (tnx hermod). Black colour, small beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, alcohol, some toffee and mild raisins. Flavour is liquorice, some alcohol,

Draught at Darby’s Gastown, Vancouver
Black color, compact brownish head. Wonderful aroma of boutique coffee, hot chocolate, cappuccino. Dry and smooth, with strong roasted malt character, coffee, and no room for much else. Ashy in the final.
Too roasty for me, but very nicely made.

Beerhunter111 (20502) - P´Castle, GERMANY - JUN 12, 2015

mcberko (17902) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 8, 2012
On tap at Brouhaha, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma of light roasted malt and bitter dry cocoa powder. Flavour is more roasted than the nose suggests, with lots of hops (not as much as the black IPA). Robust indeed, and well-balanced - through quite aggressive. Excellent stuff.

Oakes (17700) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 14, 2017
Dark brown. Very big chocolate nose, lots of nice sugars, great balance...you need the brown sugars to pull those chocolate notes through. Very food porter...no thin crap.

Bottle @Vasa Sessions
Opaque brown color, good brownish head. Cocoa, toasted malty aroma. Medium-bodied, smooth palate. Coffeish, roasted malty with some hoppyness. Balanced, smooth with dry finish.

Benzai (15625) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - OCT 21, 2015
Bottle @ home. Opaque dark brown color with an insane foamy brown head that filled up my glass in an instant and kept oozing out of the bottle for minutes. Aroma is malts, dark roasted malts and earthy. Taste malts, roast, dark malts, leaves, earthy again, raisins, plums, firm earthy roast malt bitter. Medium body, firm fizzy carbonation. Don’t like it.

Ferris (15586) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 8, 2015
Bottle - Lots of dark roast and a bit of coffee. Deep brown with a light brown head. Deep roast and and rich bitter long finish. Very robust indeed.

Bottle sample at a tasting at troubles’s place. Thanks Tom L. Opens with a crazy gusher. Murky dark brown with a huge, quickly-collapsing, tan head. Aroma of roast, coffee, chocolate, a bit of yeast. Dry flavor, roasty, with coffee, a bit of dark chocolate, a bit of yeast, and a strong bitter hops finish, slightly harsh. Medium-bodied. Decent.

Lubiere (13916) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 14, 2012
A deep dark porter with a thin lacing dark brown head. In aroma, a smooth roasted coffee malt with light nutty notes and floral hops. In mouth, an intense herbal roasted coffee with bitter chocolate, some very bitter and grassy hops, with metallic notes. Interesting. On tap at Vices et Versa, Feb. 10 2012.
