Pours a cloudy amber color with a thin light brown head. Solid aroma of resinous hops, toasted malt, caramel and rye. Very good flavor of toasted malt, caramel, rye and resinous hops. The body is medium with an oily texture and moderate carbonation. I didn’t expect much, from a rye ESB, but this is very well made and definitely enjoyable.

341ml bottle at Alus Celle, Riga. Pours slightly hazy reddish amber, thick off-white head stays nicely. Aroma of rye, fruits, warermelon, nuts. Taste of dark rye bread crust, caramel, mild smokiness. Bready aftertaste, bit oily. Medium + bodied, average carbo. Really snooth and tasty, what a nice found for a first Canadian tick.

Hazy, this has a little earthy, toasty character that has quite a bit of rye. That part I like but it’s a bit yeasty.

Draught at Darby’s Gastown, Vancouver
Hazy dark amber color, creamy head. When you manage to punch so much rye character in a beer, you are doing something good; bready and grainy, with that nice earthy character of good Bitters.
Very good, original, very well made.
