Bottle from Youri. Big dark brown near black pour. Thick body, lightly vegetal coffee with lots of roast, ample bitterness, light cocoa. And old school impy stout with a decent dose of coffee.

Bouteille.

(2215-020617)

The coffee in this one is strong and extremely prevalent, tipping dangerously close to the green pepper earthiness but not quite reaching there. Very solid.

750ml bottle from Halles St-Jean. Aroma: Nice chocolate, ashes and tobacco, roasted malt, some spices. App: black with tiny brown tint, medium brown head leaving good lacing. Beautiful look! Taste and palate: Medium to full body, smooth, more spices in mouth and maybe a tad more tobacco, roasted bitter finish. Overall: Pretty darn good. Not too sure if I prefer this version or the other one. I will just say both are excellent. I’m sure this will pair perfectly with my steak currently on the grill. Great job Dunham.

750 mL bottle. Pours black with a small khaki head. Smells of coffee. Acidic coffee that is just short of too strong and raw. Tastes, much like the nose, of strong acidic coffee. Very sharp up front, but dies down to an earthy and much richer coffee. Heavily bitter as chocolate builds with some substantial sweetness. Heavy and the coffee is just shy of unpleasant, but works out well in the end.
