3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Cactus.
Pours black with low beige head. Minimal lacing. Aroma is of old wet rag, chocolate, roasted malt. Taste is of wood, spices, lots of alcohol. Strong bitterness, sweet, resin. Palate: Full bodied. Sticky texture. Somewhat flat. Overall: Not awesome. Cedar is arkward. A tad boozy. Good anyways.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap @ Cactus (Québec). Black with a thin ring of beige foam and no lacing. Aroma is harsh with a lot of cedar, a strong peppery presence, light roasted malt, earthy/mineral notes, chocolate and hints of vegetal notes. Taste is a little less harsh, but cedar is really present here too (overwhelming), pepper, earthy/mineral notes and light chocolate. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Sticky. The cedar is fun, but it’s too much present, so the balance is hindered. There’s not much sweetness for this kind of beer, which is good. Quite complex. Enjoyable, but there’s still a lot of place for improvement.
