superspak (5110) - Michigan, USA - AUG 22, 2014
UPDATED: AUG 24, 2014 750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 6/13/2013. Pours lightly hazy golden straw color with a 2 finger dense and rocky white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big lemon, pear, apple, white grape, orange peel, white pepper, coriander, wheat, hay, straw, grass, herbal, light funk, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/funky yeast, spices, and pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, white grape, orange peel, coriander, white pepper, lightly tart wheat, hay, straw, grass, herbal, light funk, and yeast earthiness. Some light bready tartness/spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, white grape, orange peel, coriander, wheat, hay, straw, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of fruity/funky yeast, spices, and pale malt flavors; with a great malt/yeast/spice balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly bready mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice witbier style. All around great complexity and balance of fruity/funky yeast, spices, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Nearly white color very pale yella. Spicy aroma sweet doughy yeast. Some tartness like a dry white wine. Finish is more like a witbier but it has a sourness to it which is satisfying even if its not characteristic of the style, I think its the orange peel. A bit watery in the end. Interesting, but far from the best of Dupont.

0.25l bottle. Slightly hazy pale golden body with floating sediment and a thin white head. Aroma of hay, cinnamon, cloves, lemon zest and orange peel. Taste of bread, levaner, orange zest, lemon juice and bakers yeast. A bit too light, but a correct witbier.

From the 330 ml. bottle. Fizzy yellow pour with moderate clarity. Head lingers. The aroma has a full contingent of Belgian yeast, Belgian bread and toast, the vaguest banana, the vaguest coriander, and grassy hops. The body is light to medium. The taste is semi-sweet with a slight tart and overripe fruit character but I also get a definite pepper maybe sage like spiciness at the finish.

On tap @Luppolo Station (Rome). Pours bright golden, filrered, with a medium white head. Aroma of yeasts, light esters, yellow fruits, delicate. Flavour is medium to light sweet with a delicate bitter end and a light fruity sourish note. Light body, watery, light carbonation. No...

Bottle, 250 ml from Bio&Bio store, Zagreb. Pours cloudy yellow with white head. Citrus, spices, coriander, yeasty, dry. Thin bodied. Too bland and tasteless for me.

5 Bottled June 30th 2015. Pours a clear straw yellow with, at first, a massive head of foam. Subsequent pours showed a tamer foam presence. I get a lot of oranges and Coriander in the smell. Tastes of oranges and Coriander with a bit of earthiness and quite on the dry side. Good showing for a year old bottle, me thinks. Light bodied with mild carbonation. Another fine beer from Dupont. Love to try a fresher bottle of this.
