On tap at the Durango Tasting Room. Poured a deeper orange color (almost brown) with a small sized off white head. Aromas of roast, some grains and and some caramel. Tastes follow suit. Lacing left on the glass. slowrunner77 (12804) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 29, 2014
"a nice simple dark lager. lacking in complexity but rather tasty in it’s lightly roasted malt flavors and aroma. little hopping to speak of, light bodied, and slightly chocolatey."

12oz bottle-pours a tan head and dark red/brown color with effervescence. Aroma is malt-chocolate. Taste is medium malt-chocolate, nice secondary hops with some bite. OK/good effervescence. daknole (11402) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - AUG 11, 2010
Brown pour, off white head. Aroma has some coffee, roasted malt, light chocolate. Flavor has a good coffee, smokey and roasted note to it. Better than I thought, but still not amazing.

Bottle @ home. Dark brown appearance with a light brown head. Toasty, dark chocolate, toffee, caramel malty aroma. Somewhat creamy. Dark caramel, toffee chocolate flavor. Easy drinking brew. onceblind (10561) - Denver, Colorado, USA - SEP 6, 2011
On tap during 2011 Craft Lager Fest. Clear dark copperish brown with a pretty decent off khaki head. Aroma of sweet toffee, and brown malts, a little biscuit as well. Taste was clean and sweet. Sweet, toffee malts, light cocoa, and just a little burnt toast. Pretty good, just lacking some ’wow’ factor. Ernest (7817) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 2, 2003
UPDATED: MAY 14, 2011 Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is medium to dark brown. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, malt syrup, roasted grain, husks), lightly hoppy (herbs), lightly yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, unclean, slightly husky. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively/soft carbonation. Embarrassing, like beginner homebrew. 12 oz. bottle received in a trade with arminjewell. This beer is very dark brown and has a beige head of one finger. Some earthy grain is in the nose and those are also tasted. Molasses notes. A creamy feel is nice. Just a hint of toasted and roasted notes. Hops are almost non-existent but they do a dash of fruit. Chocolate grows to the finish. Easy to drink because it is so sweet but not a great beer. wlajwl (7065) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - OCT 17, 2012
Relatively cloudy for an ADL, the aroma is toffee, nutty malts and caramel sweetness. The flavor is toffee, medium sweet malts, caramel, low bitterness and a smooth finish.
