Cask (gravity) @ Great British Beer Festival, GBBF 2008, Earls Court, London, England SW5.gary07734 (500) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - OCT 8, 2008
Clear medium orange color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, fruity, berry notes, alcohol notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - syrupy, carbonation is flat. (070808)
Pours quite thick copper colour, decent head, smell is quite fruity, clear alcohol. Taste is slightly fruity, a little sweet and metallic, strong alcohol finish, a bit cloying for a 9% beer. Not as good as some other Durham beers mainly due to the over strong alcohol finish. Bragesnak (5393) - Aarhus, DENMARK - SEP 7, 2008

Orange-amber with small head. Aroma of fruit and malt. Flavor is toffee and malt with a alcoholic tone. Rune (14039) - Tromsø, NORWAY - SEP 2, 2008
Half pint shared with Geir at GBBF. Naked, shining amber body. Port-like aroma. Vinous and fruity with shades of sweet malts. Hints of alcohol beneath. Firm mouthfeel (hand-pulled cask, 09.08.2008). wyzzywyz22 (2108) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - AUG 29, 2008
Bottle, Beer Ritz, Leeds. Attractive rich golden amber colour with a a smallish but lingering white head. Fragrant aroma of orange, spice and grassy hop. Full bodied. Softly sweet caramel/toffee with lovely fruit and spice mingling wonderfully in the flavour. Cracking balance. Straight outta the top drawer.

Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is alcohol, mild fruits, wood, vanilla and some wineish notes. Flavour is fruits, wood, alcohol, mild herbal notes as well as honey and some raisins in it. Pleasant and wellbalanced.
Cask at the GBBF 2008. Deep golden colour, low head. Lovely aroma of oak, rhum-drenched raisins and fortified wine. Warming mouthfeel. The flavour is again full of oak and raisins, also notes of bitter oranges and toffee, with a hoppy bitterness in the finish. Excellent beer. pickled (47) - NEW ZEALAND - AUG 7, 2008
500ml bottle from Rumbles ($13 Ow!) According to the Durham Brewery website this is a baley wine but it’s not like any other I’ve had. Fluffy white head and straw/golden in clour. Powerful fruity hops came through very well and it reminded me of extra srtong pale ale but much more subtle. Alcohol was well hidden for such a strong beer. Full mouthfeel and a clean bitter finish. Expensive but still ok value for money and a good way to get the rosy cheek look. KimJohansen (10498) - Frederiksberg C, DENMARK - AUG 7, 2008
Clear deep golden with medium off white head. Sweet aroma with ripe fruits,
caramel and toasted malt. Sweet flavor with ripe fruits, toasted malt, caramel and alcohol notes. Ends sweet with warming alcohol.
