Full bodied Maris Otter malt with a small addition of wheat and Vienna malt are aromatised by a typical Belgian charge of coriander. The result is a smooth, sweetish, luscious and fruity experience. The peach and orange notes of the malt base are enhanced by the judicious use of a single American hop, centennial. A very satisfying beer with a Belgian character.

AshtonMcCobb (6694) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 16, 2014
Bottle @ Appellation Comely Bank tasting. From the brewery. Appearance - amber to light brown with a proportionate head, which then falls away a little quickly. Nose - bready, with dried fruit. Light biscuits in the background. Taste - more of the same. It tastes quite light given it’s 9%. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet crunchy texture and a dry balanced finish. Overall - it’s decent and the alcohol is well hidden. Maybe could go a bit more complexity though.

Bottle at Appellation. Pours pale amber, nose is vanilla, caramel, taste is fizzy, custard, toffee.

allmyvinyl (10723) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 15, 2014
Bottle at tasting. Pours clear amber, thin white head. Aromas of vanilla, spice. Taste is creamy, some fruit notes. Sweet finish. Not bad.

500ml bottle, a cloying caramel sweetness that overpowers quite a bit, would possibly go well with some sharp blue cheese to cut through it. Would recommend to share a bottle of this size though.

UPDATED: SEP 25, 2015 Sampled from a bottle from the brewery. Amber colour with a thick, foaming white head. Aromas of candyfloss, bubblegum, orange and spices. The taste is of heavy malts, alcohol, coriander, and hay-like hops. Quite a lot of sweetness, pronounced bitterness and lots of booze; but the whole thing does not really come together, perhaps because it is lacking the citrusy notes expected from the yeast. A good beer, but not, I’m afraid, great.

danlo (3083) - Darlington, Durham, ENGLAND - NOV 11, 2014
500ml bottle from the Cheese & Wine Shop, Darlington. Deep orange amber colour, lively off-white foam head leaving alittle lacing and aroma of fragrant juicy orange, tropical fruity. Flavour is sweet malty, candy, orange peel, tropical fruit, hop resin, yeast notes. Smooth mouthfeel, medium to full bodied, fine carbonation, dry earthy slightly boozy finish. Very drinkable.

spacecube (1732) - Leeds, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - OCT 8, 2014
500ml bottle, pours black with a small off white head, aroma, roasted caramel, burnt, dried fruit, plum, raisin, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, full body, thick palate, with oily & creamy texture, good flavours and nice balance for a 10% beer, carbonation is soft but not flat.

RexTalionis (3775) - FINLAND - SEP 20, 2014
Bottle. Pours near amber in color with an off-white head. Orange marmalade, bit of spicyness and sweet almonds in aroma. Orange peel, yeasty spicyness and sweet fruityness in taste at first. Feels quite smooth. Malty notes with tropical fruits, sweet pear and lemony notes towards the finish.
