COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned; has sometimes been available in the cask.
This barley wine is golden in colour with a luscious malty body. A complex blend of hops give an interesting depth and balancing bitterness. The finish lingers with a rich warmth. Something very special. Smooth deep malt blends with bright hop flavours. A hint of pear drops come from higher alcohols.

anders37 (26641) - Malmö, SWEDEN - SEP 7, 2006
Bottle. Hazy copper colour with a longlasting off-white head. Malty fruity hoppy aroma with some hints of citrus. Sweet malty, yeasty and fruity flavor. Dry bitter warming finish.

harrisoni (18578) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - AUG 21, 2006
500ml bottle. Cloudy amber, disappearing off white head. Intense grapefruit hop aroma. Bit of odd yeast. Bit fishy. Bit over carbonated. Carries alcohol well, but lacks malt. Hop finish is zingy and grassy. Just a bit empty, but the aroma and hops pick up the score.

bager (2120) - Copenhagen N, DENMARK - MAR 13, 2006
Bottle. Golden/brown with little head. Caramel, grapefruit, malty, and a bit hoppy. A very nice barley wine (if it really is a barley wine :-))

Fin (10541) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 8, 2006
Bottle 07-03-06 picked up at House of Fraser Birmingham. Cask Conditioned at Dudley Winter Alse Festival Nov 19th 2005. This has been a belter on both occasions I have had it though just a tiny bit better in cask format. Warm orangey brown colour, barely much of a head, this is a sweet and very fullsome barley wine dangerously drinkable, excellent.

Nekronos (4175) - Xalapa, MEXICO - JAN 18, 2006
A really surprise from Durham, maybe the best I have had from them, Not squasy and very strong, Myabe that is the reason why. But it was also dark.

CampbellWilson (533) - SCOTLAND - SEP 6, 2005
Bottle from Open All Hours, Keswick. Red amber. Vinous aroma with apple, port, wood and uncharacteristic grapefruit hop. Full body. Again some hop bitterness in the finish.

Mads Langtved (2243) - Copenhagen K, DENMARK - APR 24, 2005
A warming barley wine. Spicey finish. Acidic flavour. Prune aroma. A good barley wine with no alcohol notes.

3.4
Dalle (1145) - Skørping, DENMARK - APR 5, 2005
Bottle. Ornage-brown with small head. Quite fruity, estery, alcohol, pine, dry. A little unrefined flavorwise. Medium-full and silky mouthfeel.

haddonsman (1234) - Derby, Derbyshire, ENGLAND - JAN 19, 2005
Bottled. An enjoyable winter beer this. Amber orange looks, sugary orange aroma, spicy orange taste. Nice one.

3.7
omhper (25128) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JAN 8, 2005
Bottled. Amber colour, small head. Grapefruit and toffee up front. Sweet and full bodied. The complex flavour includes caramel, grass and peat, as well as some licorce in the finish. Medium bitterness. Well balanced.
