cask at GBBF 2011 ... golden yellow ... soft light lemon hop nose ... dull soft isipid lemon ... thin body ... soft hop. chriso (7536) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 28, 2011
Cask (handpump) at Great British Beer Festival, day 4 on 5 August 2011. Unsurprisingly gold in colour. On this showing, not one of the better Durham golden ales - and it’s a style they usually do pretty well. Too much biscuity stuff, not enough bite or aroma hopping. Acceptable, but uneventful. With many similar beers at this festival nothing in this one really stood out.

Sweet biscuity toffee aroma. Dull smooth palate. Treated water, and soap in the aroma too. Chlorine? Minerally, but not chalky. Full of dullness. There was a bitter tingle, but it had lost me by that stage.
