COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Launched at the Free Trade Inn, Newcastle on 6th September. Diabolus is a soured Temptation. This 10% abv Russian Stout is crossed with a Belgian Gueuze. The result is being hailed as a new beer style which combines the tart acidity of gueuze with the full roast body of Imperial Stout. The evening was fascinating. Steve gave a talk to interested drinkers and Mick provided a line-up of sour beers from Cantillon to Mikeller.

(bottle, 33cl) Black colour with a beige and short foamy layer. Lots of Gueuze/Lambic smell, instead of the expected dark and roasted malt-character, except for some little roasted malt and leather. Moderately sour flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Present Lambic-character with hints of roasted malt, chocolate and Barnyard/Brett notes; moderately sour and bitter-tart finish with a lingering apple-fruity aftertaste. A very interesting experiment. 03.III.13

Bottle. Dram Shop, Sheffield. Picked up donks ago. Opened silently. Nearly black. No head. Nose has high cocoa chocolate. Sour cherry. Lambic soaked oak. Earthy and mineraly. Taste is sour and cherry stone sweet. Some salinity. Soft smoke. Taste has a sour twang. Some salt. Some oxidised sweetness. Smooth mouthfeel. Very low carbonation. Big, oaky, sour twang to finish. Bonkers, and certainly interesting, but pretty hard to wholeheartedly enjoy.

Kwaśne i intensywne, ale skontrowane paloną goryczką. Dobry balans pomiędzy palonością, a kwasem. Średnie wysycenie, przyjemne do picia.

Z: spalone ciasto z wiśniami. S: słodko, wchodzi chwilą soku z czereśni. Finisz pestkowy, lekko palony (taki mały akcent risa w tym piwie).

W zapachu popiół i dzikość. W smaku jest kwaśno, trochę ściągająca cierpkość, cech RISa praktycznie brak.

Bottle from Bierzwerg!
Pours black with a tiny soapy head. Aroma has sourish Geuze and some coffee. Taste is delicious sourish, even slight fruity, paired with strong coffee and roasted malts. Coffee and sourish fruits in the aftertaste. Amazing one!

It a quite interesting beer but ... I’ve tried Hades Gone Wild and that is much less sophisticated version of it.

Bardzo interesujące piwo. Ni to lambik, ni to ris.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2017 Sniadaniowa butla.
