Bottle, at Cardinal. An unclear, dark amber colored beer with a dense, two-finger sized off-white to light beige head. The aroma has toffee, bread and nut notes, with some dried fruits. There’s some bitterness in the flavor, with the same maltyness known from the aroma dominating. Nuts, caramel and bread crust. Full to medium body, a bit high carbonation level. Appearance - dark brown with a decent head. Some red chinks.
Nose - cake and dried fruit. A bit dry.
Taste - almost prunes, more cake and generally a lot more generous than the nose.
Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a dry balanced finish.

From bottle at Cardinal 08.10.14, in company with with JMF and OWK. Muddy brown. Beige head. Aroma of toffee, chocolate and berries. Same taste, combined with good bitterness. High carbonation. Fine drinkability.

50 cl bottle, ’bbe’ March 2016. Oxidised copper colour, veiled, minimal light beige head. Nose - the best part of it: apples, caramel, cake, dark bread, fortified wine. The initial sweet, velvety taste and mouthfeel, reminiscent of a fresh cake last for a couple of seconds and then flow into a less pleasant harsh dry, burnt-bitter aftertaste. Bottled - don’t know bottling date, but I guess it’s quite fresh. Aroma: porter-like roasting, fruity notes, pleasant. Clear, brown with ruby hints. Head slightly brown and delicate. Bitter and medium sweet. Rather soft carbonation, nice bitter lasting finish.

500ml bottle. Pours a hazy deep ruby, with a huge off-white head (I suspect this one has been shaken up somewhere in transport), which lasts well and leaves decent lacing. Toffee and burnt caramel malt mix with restrained honeysuckle and leafy hops notes to create the aroma. Fruity, spicy hops up front lead through a floral flavour into a rich toffee malt body. Stewed fruits and spice come through in the finish. Bottle shared with Dutchdrebus @ weekly tasting. Hazy orange color, small beige head. Smell and taste malts, lightly grainy, a touch of coffee, nicely bitter.
