Fantastic ruby ale. Creamy head. Plenty of alcohol hit, more than the 5% would have you think. Treacle and mollasses. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml bottle - a lovely beer. Pours a deep ruby - nearly black - with a thick white head which lasts throughout. Nice smoky aroma, with hints of burnt cereal. Nice earthy bite with a good mouth feel and an after taste of toast. Very good.

50cl bottle, batch 2279, BB 07/2013.

Bottle. Deep dark ruby with thin tan head. Nose is berries - blackberries. Hint of toffee. In the mouth there's powdered chocolate, more blackberry, grape. Mouth feels just right for this brew and the finish is sweet with a hint of bitter. Rather nice.

50 cl bottle, Sheffield, UK via The Dram Shop. Hazy amber brown sugar appearance, sweet caramel spice aroma. Quite carbonated, lighter body than the aroma suggests. More caramel flavour with a slight metallic finish.
