UPDATED: FEB 8, 2007 Draught at C’est What. The tap handle for this was a syringe full of hops, so along with the name, I knew to expect big hops and that’s what I got. Really nice aromatic, light piney/citrusy hops, with a big presence. A decent amount of malt balances it out. Reminds me of a bolder, hoppier Tankhouse Ale. Mild-moderate bitterness in the finish, quite sessionable. This a really nice and supremely drinkable IPA and like other here have mentioned, it good to be finally getting these beers from Ontario brewers.

Impressive yet ’simple’ beer. Bitter and aggressive throughout with a remarkable hop taste towards the end, yet drinkable and refreshing. Had at Smokeless Joe’s Patio. Very fulfilling, will have again!

Really enjoyable the bitterness is not overwhelming and the hoppyness is delicious. Really enjoyes this beer one of my favourites, especially in the style.

Smells sweet and soap/perfume-like. Odd. Minimal white head. Pale colour. Hoppy (as one would expect). Slightly bitter aftertaste. Generally not very appealing.

decent brew. Nice hoppiness and mouthfeel. Nothing to get crazy excited about.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2007 A good IPA. Nicely balanced. The needle bar handle is really cool as well.

On tap at Volo. This one took me by surprise. Besides DFH and Stone Ruination, all the others IPAs I have had to date have been very thin and unbalanced in its bitterness. This one makes a fine IPA. Very floral aromas. The taste follows a similar bouquet with plenty of hops and bread. A fantastic beer!

On tap at Volo. Coppery color with hoppy aroma. Bitter predominates, but doesn’y overpower the other taste elements, which include malt and citrus.

Pint at volo. Orange/copper colour with a thick off white head. Aromas of floral hops, grapefruit and some malt. A hoppy citrus taste with notes of caramel. Smooth tasting with a nice bitter finish. A good local IPA.

On tap at Bierbistro. Second try at this one because I thought I must have had a bad one my first time. No better the second time so I don’t understand the high ratings. Dark amber with a thin head. Some citrus, but overall lacks aroma. Thin in the mouth. Sub-par carbonation. Just not as good as other IPA’s out there.
