Full disclosure - this is a personal favourite. I am thrilled any time I find this on cask. A delicious hoppy real ale, tastes like it has about the same IBU as their ubiquitous Hop Addict. Hint of rye flavour in the malt - but I could be imagining that. Cask really brings out the best in this one, and the reasonable ABV makes it quite sessionable. I wish places like Victory/Barhop/Harbord had this more often. Tranquillity (2327) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 6, 2016
Cask at bar hop 2. The body is brown, with a small white head. The aroma is very sweet with chocolate and cherry. The taste is good, it’s with a lot of cacao and has a sweet finish. garthicus (2929) - Dublin, IRELAND - JUN 25, 2009
On cask at Ceili House. Appearance: dark red small off white head. Aroma: malt, chocolate, turf. Flavour: nice bitter malt with hops, chocolate and turf. Lovely. Slacks (615) - Bolton, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 7, 2009
Draught @ Bar Volo: Apparently the last of it on tap, my friend who had just beat me to it was kind enough to split it halves and I’m forever grateful. Pours hazy and dark copper, average white head. The aroma is heavy in floral hops, some sweetness breaking through. Flavour is roasted coffee beans, chocolate, and nice floral hop bitterness. What is this? Tastes almost like a light coffee porter with a great mouthfeel. I actually quite enjoyed this. Spab (3837) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 4, 2011
On cask at Volo. Pours a cloudy reddish copper with moderate-sized creamy off-white head. Aroma is lots of caramel malt with a more understated fruitiness. Flavour is also lots of caramel with sweet fruit and a modest hoppiness. Smooth creamy mouthfeel. Nice.

Deep ruddy amber pour with almost no head at all. Soft iced tea aroma and a little bit of sweet caramel malt. Toasty malt and a little bit of very leafy hop flavour. A bit sweet but it’s a decent enough cask. A touch of chewy bitterness. It’s okay but it’s not great. The cask does work for this one.

On Cask at the Queen and Beaver in Toronto, served in an English pint. Pours clear copper with a tall, fluffy creamy head that remains. On the nose are English caramel hops, with notes of bread and grains. These are paired with delicate English hops. The flavour is initially balanced between moderate sweetness and moderate bitterness, but a resinous hoppy bitterness grows towards the end and peaks in the finish, which is moderate in length. On the palate, it is medium in body with a smooth, creamy texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a nice English style ale. It is subtle and elegant, though it could be a tad hoppier. 2012-08-01 jercraigs (10365) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 8, 2009
2008-01-31. Ruby amber body with a small beige head. Lightly earthy, herbal aroma. Sweet malt, light caramel. Flavour is sweetish malt, caramel, light bitterness grows as you go and lingers in the aftertaste. Smooth average plus palate is lightly carbonated. Pretty decent. Simple and sessionable. I look forward to sampling this one again. Cask at Victory Cafe VeloVampire (625) - Parkdale, Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 15, 2009
Cask at the Victory - came a very dark, cloudy brown with a creamy off-white cap that left chunky lacing. Looked kind of like a nitro stout settling. Aroma of brown sugar, treacle, some herbal notes and a bit of green hop. Flavour nicely balanced between the sweet malts and the hops, with a brown sugar element appearing again, and a black tea/dry tannic bitterness from the hops. The faintest hint of smoke in there as well. A very nice pint, all-round. DerWeg (1681) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 1, 2009
Cask at Ceil;i Cottage. Fantastic dry session with a good crisp malt flavor, featuring roast java fruit and light caramel, and light hop bitterness in the aroma and taste. Aroma also has light fruit and hops.
