Cask at Ceili COttage. Looks great - fiery red, creamy head. Malty aroma, nutty, fruity. Taste is a malt bomb! So much malt! Caramel sweet, fruity, and quite hoppy as well. Dare I say it was almost too malty for me. Otherwise, solid cask ale, served in tip top condition.

April 28, 2012; Cask at Victory Cafe Intense aroma; lots of volatiles in this one. Strong flavour of orange, apricot and stone fruit, light pine. Eventually gives way to some roasty chocolates. Pours a dark mahogany with a 1 cm white head. No visible carbonation. Tastes of an interesting mix between an amber ale and a pale ale. Caramel malts are obvious with some vanilla in there. Taste moves towards citrusy and piney hops. Overall, the hops are fairly clean and not overwhelming. Tasty! Light body, almost watery. Little to no carbonation, which isnt too unusual for cask. Light herbal hop finish. Environment was great and this was a tasty compliment. Liked the mix of flavours, which was a surprise. Interesting brew.

Cask au Cest What. Une robe rougetre. Aucune tte.

Cask at Volo. I wish I didnt have to go to Toronto to get their beers. Chocolate, roast and some Brit hops in the nose. The chocolate and roast dont show up as much in the flavour, but the hops are nice. traditional British amber. Really nice, drinkable beer. Did I mention that it would be great if I could find their beers locally?

Cask at the Victory Caf. Pours a murky reddish-brown with an average size lasting frothy off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, light hops and buttery toffee. Slightly watery flavour is mostly of caramel malt along with a bit of fruit and a light bitter finish -- I personally thought it could be a little more flavourful. Average bodied. A little overly simple but its still good and easy to drink.

Cask. At Victory Cafe Cask Ale Festival, January 2009. Slightly hazy amber, looked graduated darker/lighter in the glass, with an average frothy head. Floral aroma, backed with solid cereal grain sweetness. Really liked the taste - floral/herbal bitterness, definite cereal malt, and an undertone of cocoa bitterness - nice. Average body, slightly astringent, oily mouthfeel leading to a moderately bitter finish - not great, but very drinkable - many peoples favorite on the day.

[1978-20090131] Cask. Caramel chocolate hints and mild grainy aroma. Hazy, amber red body with a quick creamy off-white head. Mildly sour dry malt flavour with mild grains. Medium body. Average.

On cask. Orange brown with a ton of sediment, sticky cream head. Aroma is a little boozy, wood, earthy, bourbon, butterscotch, vanilla. Slightly peaty and rotten fruit. Mouthfeel is light. Not a lot of the complexity in the aroma carries through. Bitter throughout. I was excited when I gave it a sniff, disappointed by the lack of complexity through the flavour. Still, a unique brew.

I tried this beer on tap on March 9, 2012 at "Cest What" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It pours a translucent dark red with a whitish ring for a head. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, light fruits, and weak hops. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour is mily sweet with caramel and light fruit and a weak bitter finish ends it.
