Pillowey head. Quite a perfumed taste. Rather unusual in that the taste is not orangey, lemoney or grapefruit. I prefer other Durham bottle-conditioned beers. mjs (7156) - Helsinki, FINLAND - AUG 31, 2012
(Bottle, 0.5 l, at Black Door, 20120831) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Its head was medium sized, white and long lasting. Aroma had grass, malts and alcohol. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grain, malts, grass, alcohol and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy, boozy and bitter. Not a very pleasant brew but had nice grain flavour and decent grassy hop aroma. The_Bish (1123) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - AUG 28, 2012
Drunk at Cotteridge Wines very very good beer sampling party. Their version of an IPA is not really a version that I would bother with again. Beause it’s not an IPA. Who says it is? I’m not sure. Does anyone? Not me. I don’t. Do you? DanielBrown (4500) - Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, ENGLAND - AUG 27, 2012
Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Clear gold, no head. This struck me as more of a Golden than a IPA. Hops are more backgroundish, rather than being the main feature. Smooth, easy drinking yes, but in this case easy drining means that the tongue is not stunned by overt hop content. Certainly pleasant, but not a show stopper. dogbomb (1215) - ENGLAND - JUL 7, 2012
Bottle. Hazy deep amber gold with a thick cream head. Initial nose is musty wheat with hints of orange peel and marmalade. Taste is orangey, with a hint of warming alcohol, sweet maltiness and a nice long warming finish.

50cl from Beer City, BB 04-2014.

Cask at GBBF. Clear gold beer. Light dry palate. Very low carbonation. Sweet malt reasonably well balanced with some light hop. Decent flavour but ultimately flat and thus a bit boring.
500ml bottle. Pours a deep gold with a large head. Aroma is sherbet lemon, orange and bready malt underneath. Taste has some straw malt. Bitter marmalade. Sharp bitter finish. Lemon on the aftertaste. Prickly carbonation. spacecube (1705) - Leeds, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - APR 4, 2012
Nice malty aroma. This is Durham’s interpretation of an IPA but there are lots of Northern English malts about it. It seems to me like a very strong and tasty bitter, it’s very nice. On cask I reckon I could knoeck back plenty of these.Malty & nicely bitter. Good Stuff. BoBoChamp (5755) - Gent, BELGIUM - MAR 24, 2012
50cl, English brew, from The Bottle Shop Canterbury, complex brew, malty/floral and slightly bitter/fruity, yet not balanced, hazy, small head, nice brew
