Lighter, copper color with lots of head out of the bottle. Again a metallic edge--what's with Durham and this metallic flavor? The water? Carbonation gives a frothy body, somewhat oily but not hugely. Nutty, slightly acidic, citric, strong bitterness, long finish. Smoother with the yeast poured from the bottle. Sweet-dry thing going on, dry dominating the finish. jamestulloch (4116) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 31, 2016
Bottle from Great Grog. Clear golden body with a thin white head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of earth, pear and grass. Flavour of marmalade, peppery hops and dusty malts. Medium body with a light, oily texture. Soft fizz. A solid IPA. hawthorne00 (3955) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - NOV 30, 2011
Bottle,11C. Almost clear orange with a white head. Aroma of orange blossoms, earth, caramel, lemon, alcohol. Slightly sweet with biscuit, caramel, peach, then quite earthy bitterness and a dry finish with some wood notes. A little too much carbonation, but perhaps that’s part of the Belgian influence on what remains a very English beer. Lots to like, but the alcohol sticks out too much. gam (3930) - brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JAN 18, 2011

Bottle conditioned. Hazy gold, good rocky white head and moderate condition. Excellent IPA type hop aromas mixed with honey and yeast. Promise in the nose is rewarded in the mouth with good intense hop bitterness that never gets out of control, held in check by sweet honey and grapefruit that stretches out into the finish. And its good and strong.

500ml bottle. Pours a deep gold with a large head. Aroma is sherbet lemon, orange and bready malt underneath. Taste has some straw malt. Bitter marmalade. Sharp bitter finish. Lemon on the aftertaste. Prickly carbonation. gegwilson (3708) - North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - APR 5, 2014
Bottle from the brewery. Amber colour with some cream suds. An enjoyable IPA. Quite spicey with a nice bitterness and citrus notes. A solid beer rather than a spectacular one. pintbypint (3641) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 2, 2011
500ml brown bottle. Golden pour, hazy. Thin white cap despite a vigourous pour. Malty nose, caramel sweetness with only a faint suggestion of citrus. Taste has a marmalade-y mix of orange and lemon citrus hops over a light caramel malt base. Soft bitterness in the finish featuring orange peels and grass. Has nice English malt aftertaste. Light bodied, good natural feeling carbonation. Pretty soft and subtle for an IPA, but the site classes this as an English Strong which I guess suits the beer a bit more. Malts are nice though, hops are in the right places, but not forceful enough to hold my interest. It’s subtlety might be it’s strength depending on who you are.
