Bottle Conditioned. Pours a cloudy dark golden colour. Has a real fruity hoppy aroma. The flavour has plenty of fruit with a long lasting bitterness.

Cask, Conditioned at The Royal Oak, Wantage. Gold with white head. Quite a sweetish, despite the above description, hopped beer with a citrus orange character. Light malts and very decent and drinkable for a higher ABV beer. Good stuff.

Bottle: Deep golden, hazy, orangey sheen, small off-white foamy layer; moderate sweetish and woody-caramelly nose, supprted by hints of vanilla; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied, very soft; slightly lingering woody and sweet-lemony finish. Really good.....

MiP (16055) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JAN 4, 2014
Bottle, 6.5%. Mild, refreshing hop aroma, soft fruit, mango and the like. Hazy golden colour. Good stable white head, slightly creamy. The flavour is nicely malty and hop spicy. A little on the sweet side for an English IPA, but good. Refreshing, citrus-like bitterness, quite good.

Bottle from St. Aidan’s Winery, Holy Island. Bright orange amber with a pillowy white head. Nose Fullers-like orange peel yeastiness, hops, honey and caramelised malt sweetness washing over an almondy background strong in alcohol. silky slick on the palate with some mellow alcohol burn; orange and honey drying into hop and husky malt bitterness. Fruity, boozy and good.

hawthorne00 (4198) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - NOV 30, 2011
Bottle,11C. Almost clear orange with a white head. Aroma of orange blossoms, earth, caramel, lemon, alcohol. Slightly sweet with biscuit, caramel, peach, then quite earthy bitterness and a dry finish with some wood notes. A little too much carbonation, but perhaps that’s part of the Belgian influence on what remains a very English beer. Lots to like, but the alcohol sticks out too much.

markas101 (2530) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - DEC 24, 2011
50 cl bottle, Sheffield, UK via The Dram Shop. Kicking of the Xmas beer countdown. Pours a hazy deep gold apricot. Caramel, cereal grain and lemon zest aroma. Creamy, honey sweet then a orange rind bitterness builds at the end. Quite nice.
