(bottle) Black coloured hue with a beige and firm mid-sized foamy head. Earthy and leathery roast-malty aroma with notes of dark chocolate, liquorice, vanilla and a tinge of dark fruits. Roasty bitter flavour with a mildly alcoholic sweetness, full bodied with a soft carbonation. Solid leathery and a bit tarry roasted malt-character with hints of dark chocolate, liquorice and a subtle sour-fruity touch; roasty and chocolatey malty finish with alcoholic and mildly vinous notes. Very good. 03.III.13

Pours black, light tan head. Aroma is boozy, plum. Taste starts with a slight bitter, raisin soaked in brandy, slightly fruity, leading to a hit of alcohol warmth and a nice slight bitter finish with a sweet aftertaste that lingers. Lovely full bodied mouthfeel. Overall rather nice!

Mostly coffee in the aroma, not that intense on the nose. Taste is a bit sour and full of coffee and roasted notes. Mid body. Too little4ris

Czarne, nieprzejrzyste, piana drobno pęcherzykowa, pozostaje koronka.

Bottle. Pitch Black in colour. Very Malty (roast malts, caramel, toffee, dark chocolate, espresso coffee, liquorice). Fruity (berries, dried fruits, raisins, prunes). Rich, Vinous (port-like), Oily and Smooth. Alcohol not evident in the taste, but very warming. Very sweet roast malty; slight fruity sourness; no bitterness. Very tasty. Very drinkable. Great beer! Bottle from Bierzwerg!
Pours deep black with a small white head. Lots of licorice and coffee in aroma. Taste has much more coffee, lots of sweet chocolate, roasted malts and licorice. Pure coffee in the finish! Damn good one!

Decent Imperial stout, Led by coffee, dark fruits and some chocolate. Alcohol fairly well hidden

October 2016 - Bottle shared in London for the JK Tasting as ’Durham Temptation’, 10%, 2013 vintage. Opaque black with a foamy brown head. Aroma is chocolate, booze, red berries, slight papery oxidation. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is chocolate, leather, papery with a dry finish. Quite dry, boozy and spicy. I’m not convinced the extra aging has helped it in the way that hoppier or BA impy stouts improve with time. But it’s OK. (3.2)

Bottle shared at the CBC Islington for the jk tasting. Many thanks to Daniel . A dark black, dark brown coloured pour with a halo of dark tan head. Aroma is mineral, tangy green apple, sour, nutty. Palate is tangy, frothy, carbonation, semi sweet, . Flavour is composed of nutty, brown sugars, liquorice, blackened malts. Ok.
