COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Permanent.
The name comes from the predominant hop. Amarillo is a light and floral American hop. On its own it makes a beer that has similar qualities to a light white wine. The addition of Goldings hops add a little more spice. The result is a deliciously fragrant light session beer. Amarillo and Goldings hops.

Cask from The John Duck, Durham, £2.50/pint I’m a sucker for anything with Amarillo hops but found this very pale interpretation to be let down slightly by its thin palate and aggressive bitterness overcompensating for its citrus lightness. Still plenty of positives, aroma is particularly enticing and a fine summer beer.

berkshirejohn (6505) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - JUL 29, 2016
Cask at the Maidenhead Beer Festival, July 2016. A straw coloured pour with a ring of white head; aroma of honey and ripe harvest grains; then a light dry floral taste; with a mouth watering finish. Very elegant and refined.

Cask at Waterloo Tap - London. Pours clear yellow-gold with a frothy, white head. The nose holds white bread, pale grains, hay, lemon peel. Lightly sweet flavour with further lemony hops, straw, some butter husky grains. Light bodied with fine carbonation; decent condition. Finishes with some dirty hay, more pale grains, husk, faint grass, bread crust. A very decent cask golde.

UPDATED: JUL 10, 2007 An intresting beer. Aroma is reasonably hopy, however a bit minimal. Taste is A mix of some sort of caramel malt, with corriander and peppered makrel, and some grassy hops in there too, dont worry theres no fish but it just reminds me of it. Rerate: 3 judges again. Far better condition, citrusy and floural as you should expect from this hop.

Svesse (8601) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - AUG 23, 2006
(Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 31 July) Colour is golden yellow with green tinges, small head. Nose is fruity with lemon and grassy hops, a bit closed. Taste is fruity and hoppy with notes of lemon, but mainly with a long bitter finish with a nice grassy hop character and nutty notes. Light to medium body and rather dry. Very nice finish. Grows on you.
