White Stout is the ultimate beer in our "White Range". While the word "stout" has come to mean a dark beer, the original meaning was strong and true. Before the porter brewers commandeered the word to mean a stout, or strong, porter it referred to any strong beer. We have rehabilitated and improved the genre. White Stout is a very pale, full bodied, strong beer. American columbus hops are used throughout to give massive floral and resinous character. At a strength of 7.2% this is a true stout. Indeed, few modern stouts of any colour are true to the word for strong.

hay with a bit of whiskeyness, amber gold colour with a frothy white head, quite sweet with a slight citrus tang. basically just a strong bland pale ale then?

from Mondial de la Bire 2013, Mulhouse - pours a hazy dark blond beer under a persistent white foam leaving a beautiful lacework; aroma of honey and flowery hops; full-bodied, tasty and with a fair yet subtle carbonation, gently bitter, earthy and spicy hoppy finish with light fruity and honey reminiscence

Pours a cloudy copper with a nice, thick, foamy white head. Aroma of caramel and grass. Taste is strong of grass with a bitter aftertaste. A nice strong beer, not what I expected at all really.

I was expecting this to be a pale beer that tasted like a stout, although it is explained on the bottle that it is not that. Bottle - golden with a sizeable frothy white head which stays around a good long time. Aroma of grass and caramel malt. Taste of grass, passion fruit, pineapple and some deep caramel malt. Medium bitterness and nice sweetness to finish. Medium body, high carbonation. I very much enjoyed this - full of loads of grassy hops and rich malts.

Bottle, at Cardinal. A lightly unclear, golden colored beer with a finger-thick white head. Pale malts, some fruityness and a touch of yeast in the aroma. Some herbs and grass too. Pale malts and fruityness in the flavor, its not too sweet, the bitterness is suitable, and theres also a grassy touch in the flavor. Full body and a nice carbonation level. Lasting finish, a tad much on the malty side perhaps. Anyway, its a pretty decent one, but not the kind of beer I feel an urge to repeat. 140726

Clear golden colour with a foamy white head. Rich, boozy aroma. The taste is a little like a Belgian Strong Ale, with hints of apple and hazelnuts. Good bitterness. A very classy beer with rich flavours.

Bottle from the brewery. Appearance - golden with a thin fluffy head. Nose - light pine, custard (maybe funky). Taste - dry biscuits, green apples. Palate - medium bodied with a crunchy texture and a dry finish. Overall - this is gnarly and not very generous, considering the alcohol.
