COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
White Stout is the ultimate beer in our "White Range". While the word "stout" has come to mean a dark beer, the original meaning was strong and true. Before the porter brewers commandeered the word to mean a stout, or strong, porter it referred to any strong beer. We have rehabilitated and improved the genre. White Stout is a very pale, full bodied, strong beer. American columbus hops are used throughout to give massive floral and resinous character. At a strength of 7.2% this is a true stout. Indeed, few modern stouts of any colour are true to the word for strong.

Slightly hazy golden color, small white head, some lace. Flowery, fruity-yeasty aroma. Light to medium-bodied. Fruity, "flowery" hoppyness, long lingering bitterness. Nice. Ok malt profile. I am pretty sure that beer 200 years ago didnt taste anything like this.

UPDATED: APR 21, 2014 500ml bottle (gallows bird, espoo)
Slightly hazy Amber, huge self-supporting head. Slightly sticky malty aroma, plenty of grassy and piney hops. I dont like the name, and the aroma is not so promising, but taste wise this is very nice. A very nice twist on normal strong ale. Full body, but only in an English way. Pleasant carbonation too, doesnt feel heavy or strong. Herbal bitterness in great balance with the sweetish medium to lightly roasted malts, quite bready even. Whoops, thats a pint gone.

imdownthepub (13713) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 31, 2015
Bottled, 500ml from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Dirty blonde with off white head. There is a big, fruity, alcohol hit early on, apricot and plummy notes, some malty sweetness, some caramel, boiled sugar notes. Quite a hefty beer but reasonable.

Scopey (13323) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 9, 2012
Bottle at Chrisos Pre-GBBF Shindig, 2012. It pours straw yellow, with a thin white head. The nose is sugary sweetness, tinned peach, hay and straw. The taste is tinned peach, pear, apple, alcohol and sherbet, with a lightly bitter finish. Light-medium body and fine, spritzy carbonation. Not my sort of thing at all.

from Mondial de la Bire 2013, Mulhouse - pours a hazy dark blond beer under a persistent white foam leaving a beautiful lacework; aroma of honey and flowery hops; full-bodied, tasty and with a fair yet subtle carbonation, gently bitter, earthy and spicy hoppy finish with light fruity and honey reminiscence

mR_fr0g (10368) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 6, 2016
Bottle at home split with Sarah from Beer Hawk. Slight hazed golden orange coloured pour with a lasting fluffy white head. Aroma is slightly alcohol solvent, jammy fruit, grainy, grape, grain husks. Flavour is composed of strawberry jam, grape, grain husks, fruity esters, passion fruit. Not sure if this is a stout really. Palate is semi-sweet, moderate carbonation, medium bodied. Bit of a weird one. quite sweet.

pivnizub (10309) - Bochum, Porř, GERMANY - OCT 12, 2013
Bottle: Deep golden, hazy, visible carbonation causing a big and stable rocky white head, sweetish and tart aromas of dried fruits, some grains underneath, citric hoppy traces plus alcohol underneath; robust bitter-sweet flavour, full bodied, pretty tart; lingering, but harsh and alcoholic grainy-bitter finish. Still good, but all in all disappointing
