Sampler at Dust Bowl -
Another one of the Top 5 at Dust Bowl. It’s a darker IPA than usual, and while not a Black IPA (or Cascadian or whatever you want to call it) the color of the beer really is an amberish/copper/red. The aroma was as catty of an aroma as I can recall. Underneath the cattyness of the hops lied some solid pine aroma too. Nicely balanced in the palate with a strong showing of fresh, pungent hops and a clean malt/yeast combo to really let the hops do their best, which for me in an IPA is important. Obviously a hop-forward IPA and a really successfull one at that. Dodgrblu (752) - Sacramento, California, USA - JAN 17, 2014

4 ounce sample on tap at Rubicon for Hoptoberfest. The aroma on this is kind of weird...I get a cheesy aroma with a mild herbal hop character. Transparent amber body with a creamy off-yellow head present, and good lacing. Starts kind of tart with light herbal hop flavors. Lightly toasted maltiness in the middle with some caramel flavors. Finishes with some mild hop bitterness and more herbal hop character. Not so great. bhensonb (15342) - Woodland, California, USA - NOV 12, 2012
