Pours a beautiful mahogany color from a bottle, thick fresh cream colored head dissipates leaving minimal lacing. Aroma is real licorice, real root beer. Flavor is similar, starts off almost cloyingly sweet (trying the beer fresh) but fades off into a pleasant bitterness. Pretty good beer. drpimento (3866) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 7, 2018
Geez, sure wish I would have gotten more than one of these to seller after I had this one and see what they taste like in the future but oh well. This one has a great multi yeasty nose with a little fruit some alcohol chemical aromaz but also lots of malt characteristics. Nice appearance with a fairly long lasting head. Flavor is like aroma. Again more emphasis on the malts. But on the subtle yet complex way. blipp (10106) - La Mesa, California, USA - JUN 26, 2017
Bottle. Pours amber with a thin off white head. Rich malty base, some bready and toffee notes, toast, some herbal bitterness, and a rich malty finish. Good stuff. PugUglyBrewer (886) - - APR 30, 2017
Dark cola color with a cream colored head of foam. Notes of brown sugar, molasses, dark chocolate, and heavy whole grain. Hops take a backseat to support the sweetness of the malt bill. Great for stout fans. thetmaxx (927) - West Sacramento, California, USA - MAR 23, 2016
Wow this got to me quick. Nice head, aroma of alcohol and sweet grain. Flavor has like candy sugar, sweet, I wish it commanded more, but I think that’s all you get out of an old ale. Overall, delicious, simple, and knocks you on your ass real quick!

Aromas of molasses, caramel, banana. Bit dilute by co2 fizziness. Pours dark copper brown with tan head that quickly dissapears. Smooth start with very little alcohol, nice sweet finish with some warmth. Definitely can be aged for years except plastic lining of a cap might reduce shelf life is not stored properly. Sip it slowly. One to enjoy. andrewje41 (4646) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - NOV 18, 2015
22 Oz bottle poured. Much thanks to Keven for sharing this. Pours a copper caramel color with an active fizz head. Malty aroma with a caramel and booze presence. A lot of spice. Brown sugar too to pair. Smooth front flavor with a biting finish. Pretty good. slowrunner77 (13368) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 26, 2014
"another nice beer from DB. A little on the sweet side, but in a good way. Bready, with decent bitterness. Dark fruit in the aroma and flavor, with some leather as well. Again, pretty smooth for such a bruiser. Nice beer."

Overall a decent stock ale, but not very memorable. Pours a very nice slightly cloudy amber with a white head. Smells of green apple and strawberries. Taste is sweet upfront and creamy, with a boozy finish. Had in the bottle. bnoel09 (588) - Elk Grove, California, USA - MAR 1, 2014
Poured from the bomber into a snifter. Mahogany color with a small tan head. Aroma is a complex blend of biscuity malt, dark fruits, and some smoke. Flavor matches the aroma perfectly. This has a long finish but conceals the alcohol really well. Overall a very nice beer.
