COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Stock ales are brewed at a higher gravity to hold up to extended aging. British hops take a back seat in this ale and provide subtle hop notes and just enough bitterness to support a malt showcase. While fresh, the beer presents with balancing bitterness, but is still dominated by the malt character. Over time, the bitterness subsides and new flavors are created during the aging process.

Bottle. Pours amber with a thin off white head. Rich malty base, some bready and toffee notes, toast, some herbal bitterness, and a rich malty finish. Good stuff.

Dark cola color with a cream colored head of foam. Notes of brown sugar, molasses, dark chocolate, and heavy whole grain. Hops take a backseat to support the sweetness of the malt bill. Great for stout fans.

Wow this got to me quick. Nice head, aroma of alcohol and sweet grain. Flavor has like candy sugar, sweet, I wish it commanded more, but I think that’s all you get out of an old ale. Overall, delicious, simple, and knocks you on your ass real quick!

Aromas of molasses, caramel, banana. Bit dilute by co2 fizziness. Pours dark copper brown with tan head that quickly dissapears. Smooth start with very little alcohol, nice sweet finish with some warmth. Definitely can be aged for years except plastic lining of a cap might reduce shelf life is not stored properly. Sip it slowly. One to enjoy.

22 Oz bottle poured. Much thanks to Keven for sharing this. Pours a copper caramel color with an active fizz head. Malty aroma with a caramel and booze presence. A lot of spice. Brown sugar too to pair. Smooth front flavor with a biting finish. Pretty good.

"another nice beer from DB. A little on the sweet side, but in a good way. Bready, with decent bitterness. Dark fruit in the aroma and flavor, with some leather as well. Again, pretty smooth for such a bruiser. Nice beer."

Overall a decent stock ale, but not very memorable. Pours a very nice slightly cloudy amber with a white head. Smells of green apple and strawberries. Taste is sweet upfront and creamy, with a boozy finish. Had in the bottle.

Poured from the bomber into a snifter. Mahogany color with a small tan head. Aroma is a complex blend of biscuity malt, dark fruits, and some smoke. Flavor matches the aroma perfectly. This has a long finish but conceals the alcohol really well. Overall a very nice beer.

Bottle. Reddish brown pour, with a thin head. Very sweet malt, sweet bread, alcohol, prune, brown sugar, some bitterness, and booze. Too sweet for me, not very pleasant.

22 ounce bottle purchased at Nugget in Woodland, CA. The aroma has sweet notes of caramel and toffee primarily. Some leather and a little tobacco are also in there. Light brown sugar, too. Nicely aromatic. Minutely hazy orange-amber body with a small, yellow head present. Starts quite sweet and very sticky with tons of toffee flavors. Light roastiness is present in the middle, along with some nuttiness after that. Finishes with more sweet, raisiny flavors. Warming. A little on the sweet side for me.
