Lack of complex taste. Quite sweet. The Bourbon flavours are nice and in balance. Overall a nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: SEP 25, 2017 Barwa klarowna, bursztynowa. Piana jest wysoka, puszysta i trwała. Aromat wytrawny, nieco kwaskowy i winny.

Essentially, this is incredibly gimmicky, and the pricetag isn’t really worth it. 25 euros is overpriced. Take that aside though, and you’re left with quite an interesting beer. Not the most amazing beer to see, it still has a nice appereance in the glas, with a subtle bourbon-like color to it. Can’t help but wonder if coloring agents were added, I don’t think so. The aroma is packed with bourbony aspects; vanilla, wood, honey. But under it you find that sparkly citrusy essence of a Duvel. Some will find this appealing, other won’t. I personally really enjoyed it. The taste is really quite the same, with a very interesing play between Duvel citrusy bitterness and bourbon sweetness. The alcohol there, but definitely not overpowering. It’s warming, soothing. The finish leaves you with a lasting sweetness, soft bitters and is quite long. A bit refreshing even. Sure, it’s overpriced. Many barrelaged beers of better quality are lower priced. But, looking at the overal experience, sharing this bottle with my girlfriend and a beer-loving friend as a finish to a beertasting evening was quite amazing. If you get the change, and have some bucks, go for it.

sampled at bierpassie 2017. Pours clear, much darker than the regular duvel, but still blonde. SMell is intensely mineral ( why ?? ) very strong buttery bourbon notes. Taste is very intense bourbon. Pretty overkill, really. Mild bitterness in the back. Strong carbo. Not balanced. the bourbon I get ( strongly) tastes really good, but doesn’t really work with a beer like Duvel. I expected this prior to tasting, but was hoping to be proven wrong.

From bottle, the classic duvel aged in bourbon barrels, noticed that the alcohol on this one is way higher compared to the regular duvel, another recipe? Or is there a lot of bourbon left in those barrels for this incrass? A deep honey golden pour with a white head with lot’s of carb, not as much as the regular but it’s there. A huge stone of sweetness of charred oak, vanilla and sweet bourbon hits the notes, mixed with orange fruit, peel, prune like notes, Dried apricots, charred oak, and just Some extra sweetness of the bourbon. The taste is full smooth and a big forward note of the bourbon. The carbonation is there without getting to alcoholic. Wonder why it is so expensive. But it Sire is tasty, didn’t expected a lot from this, seems i was wrong

Huge, dense, light-yellow head, resistant, over bright orange-caramel coloured beer. Bourbon, alcohol, intense vanilla, cedarwood; sweet nose, enhanced by the alcohol. Sharpish caramel flavour, with lots of vanilla especially retronasal, cypress, ripe pears. Classical Duvel-flavour in the background, pretty dry still. Backthroat serious alcoholheat; good carbonation, certainly seen the barrel aging. Very slick to oily MF, at least medium bodied. Like it, even when - as usual with Duvel - it isn’t really very complex. Bourbon-vanilla is very prominent, I’m missing the smoked aromas announced. But I wonder what rectifies the €25 sale price. My guess: the packaging and the oompah made around it... 8/4/7/3/15
