Bottle. Beautiful creamy foam. Very light color. Hefty hoppy taste. Massive alc 9,5 pct. A different yeast would suit the beer. Ysok02 (2014) - Mons, BELGIUM - JUN 2, 2017
Robe blonde, mousse abondante, peu persistante. Nez assez discret, houblon, notes d’agrumes, levures, épices. Bouche à l’attaque simple, de la fraîcheur, du fruit, de la tension mais un manque de puissance et de complexité. Agréable mais pas transcendante. 27-05-2017; fles; at home (bought somewhere in Belgium), part of the Duvel Tripel Hop tasting competition.
The looks of the beer are nice. The beer looks like any other Duvel beer. The color of the beer is golden yellow, maybe a touch darker than regular. The beer has a tiny cloudiness in it, very minimal though. It is almost clear. The beer pours a thick layer of crispy white foam. The bulk of the foam is rough and collapses quickly but a nice layer of rather soft foam remains.
The smell of the beer is very nice. There are some malty touches, but the main aroma is that of the hops. There are nice fruity aroma’s of lemon and orange, some lychee and grapefruit (much milder than the orange and lemon though) and some eucalyptus and woody aroma’s. It also has a bit piney and resinous aroma. Very nice.
The taste is nice. It has some fuller and sweeter malt flavours. On top of this, there are rich flavours of hops. They give some fruity notes, mainly of citrus and lemon and orange zest. Besides this there are some resinous and a bit woody hop flavours. It is quite nice. The smell was a bit better than the taste though. Just a bit fruitier. The taste is in good balance.
The palate of the beer is nice. Medium body, smooth and medium, almost low carbonation. The beer has a lovely finish. It is filled with those lovely hops, fruity and a bit bitter. Nice one.

Bottle at home. Clear golden with big white head. Lots of pils malts, grapefruit, light grass, alcohol, light bright citrus juice, soft bitter chicory notes. Over medium sweet and about medium bitter. Over medium bodied with some alcohol. Quite nice but with less alcohol it would probably be better. Svesse (9222) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - MAY 12, 2017
(Bottle, 2010 vintage) Golden colour, slightly hazy, with frothy white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of peaches, pineapple, citrus, grapefruit, coriander, doughy malt, grass, floral hops and a spicy yeast aroma. Malty, hoppy taste with bread, pineapple, peaches, unripe mango, black-currant, marzipan, spicy yeast, coriander, hay and a generous citric, grassy bitterness in a finish with a touch of warming alcohol. Almost full body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty, with a generous hop character and well balanced for its strength. Very nice. andrepintado (3823) - Porto, PORTUGAL - APR 25, 2017
33cl bottle. Duvel Tripel Hop 1. Hazy gold color. Thin white head. Taste is medium bitter, light sweet. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Aroma is mango, peach, chestnuts, yeast. Flavour is tangerine, passion fruit, hops, herbs. Great! MrW (791) - Mechelen, BELGIUM - FEB 22, 2017
Bottle 33cl in the tasters box.
Aroma of spices, flowers, minimal grapefruit and pepper.
Poured maybe a little darker than the normal Duvel, but still perfect looking with the perfect sparkling.
Taste is flowers, pepper, less fruity than the other Tripel hops, sweet and a slow bitterness coming in.
Spicy finish and fizzy mouthfeel. imdownthepub (15749) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 22, 2017
Bottled, 330ml, aged 7.5yrs from Bellingers Garage, Grove, Oxon (now sadly closed). In theory obviously ageing this wouldn’t improve it but in actual fact it had become a rich, dryish, full on Belgian Ale. Excellent depth of flavours which had amalgamated into a resinous, fruitiness. Smooth and silky. Really pleased with this one.
