COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first two batches of Duvel Tripel Hop were brewed with Saaz-Saaz, Styrian Golding and Amarillo. From now on Duvel Tripel Hop will have a different hop every year that will be added in the brewing process as well as being used for dry hopping. For 2012 this hop is Citra.

Editors note: clearly distinguishable, in a circle on the label it reads "Dry Hopped with Citra 2012 Selection"

Zlotta (2512) - Hagen, GERMANY - MAY 6, 2016
0.33 l bottle from Mitra (Beukenweg, Amsterdam) as part of the tasting box, best before August 2017. Clear, pale straw yellow with a greenish touch and a massive, frothy, stable, white head. Sweetish, fruity-grassy, floral and slightly herbal aroma of lychee, lime, some grapefruit and fresh grass. Sweetish, fruity-grassy, floral and slightly herbal taste of lime, lychee, grapefruit, pineapple and fresh grass, followed by a medium long, slightly yeasty, a little herbal and quite dry finish with a touch of alcohol. Medium body, effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Very refreshing despite its high abv, drinks way too easily as well. Very good!

33cl bottle (Black Nr. 2) Appearance: Golden, with a big huge white health, leaving a nice amount of lacing. Aroma: The Citra in aroma, stone fruit , yeast, lemon grass. Taste: Citrus fruity, belgian yeast spices, light malts. . Bitter finish medium body, averafge carbonation. Now the tough decision this our Sorachi Ace. This ones more hoppy , the other one is more Duvel on Sterroid. I still dont know. which one I prefere and both are great.

Prima spul!

Revisited at ZBF 2016 (new brew, part of the black mystery pack). The Citra in aroma promises a stone fruit sweetness that in flavour, travelling on those highly attentuated Duvel yeasts and pale malts, merges into a lemongrass and lime (kafir) leaf spice. Dry as always, with an exotic edge making Asian food pairing options very evident. Works oddly well, even if Duvel itself has always seemed like to "thin" and "finished" beer in itself for extravagant dryhopping to add any profound pyrotechnics.

Dcouverte dans le coffret Tripel Hop. Trs claire avec une belle et paisse mousse blanche. Au nez on retrouve bien le houblon. Au got elle est doucement fruite avec un petit retour dalcool.

sample from bottle at ZBF. new batch from 2016. poured a clear deep golden colour with a white head on top. nose of fresh citrus, crisp malts, spiced yeast, floral notes, grapefruit, mango, and sweet pech stone fruits. this is by far the the best and fruited duvel tripel hop version. and again a example how good and fruited citra hops is. slight yeasty finish. carbonation, very refreshing. a clear winner for me.

Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is citrusy, sweet, a bit soapy, wheat, spicy yeasts. Taste is spicy, citrusy, good balance, perfumed, a bit phenolic towards the end. High carbonation, but fine-bubbled. Very good!
