The first two batches of Duvel Tripel Hop were brewed with Saaz-Saaz, Styrian Golding and Amarillo. From now on Duvel Tripel Hop will have a different hop every year that will be added in the brewing process as well as being used for dry hopping. For 2012 this hop is Citra.

Editors note: clearly distinguishable, in a circle on the label it reads "Dry Hopped with Citra 2012 Selection"

Im worried Ive only got 4 bottles of this great brew left, Its been my favourite beer over the last year. The addition of the Citra initially caused concern, its a fairly common hop and one Id sampled in several US beers but boy does it work with Duvel, the hoppy smell bubbles forth and the taste of the dry hopping brings this beer to the next level. My challenge is to source more or persuade Duvel to rebrew this baby.

Strohgelb, opal mit der unverkennbaren voluminsen Duvel-Schaumkrone. Sehr wrzig, fast scharf und angenehme fruchtige Hopfenaromen. Der Citra kommt gut zur Geltung. In Anbetracht der 9.5% gefhrlich gut zu trinken.

330ml bottle (Koht Birthday Auction 2016, Tallinn)
Amazingly floral hoppy aroma, plenty of the duvel tripel behind that. Taste is a bit harsh in comparison. Lightish palate, but some alcohol is evident, and vapours play around the palate a fair bit. Malts light, almost thin, dominated by the hops. Bitterness harshish in the finish. Yeasty bottom didnt improve this.

330ml bottle (thanks FatPhil). Slightly hazy golden color. Medium size, white head, stays. Perfume, sweet, fruity, oranges and alcohol in aroma. Sweet, bit papery, berries, fruity, alcohol in taste. Sweet, perfume and papery and alcohol in aftertaste. Soft carbonation. Packed with perfume. Pleasant mouthfeel. Wouldnt say its almost 10%. Very solid brew.

UPDATED: NOV 7, 2016 From Belgium in a Box. In Teku glass. Playing Magic 2015. I prefer the normal one. This feel lighter and more refreshing, but resinous nature of citra hops isnt much noticeable. Very foamy, had to pour it in 2 steps. Very transparent

Bottle @ home from Tripel Hops Tasting Box from Cash Flandre Artois, Auchy-les-Mines. Color: clear golden blond beer with medium carbonation and high white foam. Smell: grassy and floral hoppy nose. Citrus and lime notes. Very nice. Taste: medium body with good malt backbone, well balanced with fruity and floral hops. Lime and citrus hint. Very nice, quiet drinkable. Aftertaste: alcohol, sweet bitterness, lime. Good.

Bottle 0.33l at home Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Thanks to Zlotta for finding this in Mitra. 24.09.2016. Taste as Number Two with Vlada Ciaoooo and Jelena. Pour it hazy yellow color with medium white head. Aroma sweetish, citra hops totally present, little bit eggy note I think from Citra. Taste smooth sweet quickly dissappear little bit odd at the end, missing carbonation after few sips, I thought is gonna be better than previous one but now hmm...., medium body, average carbonation, abrupt.

Duvel Moortgat by Duvel Tripel Hop #2 - 2012 Rami Rami is drinking a Duvel Tripel Hop #2 - 2012 by Duvel Moortgat at Powiśle Porownanie citry i amarillo. Sa inne. Citra istrzejsza, bardziej cytrusowa, amarillo daje "slodszy" aromat. Bez sikow kocich. Oba bdb.
