Hops: Saaz, Styrian Golding and Sorachi Ace. "Dry Hopped with Sorachi Ace. 2013 Selection"

330cc bottle. Great aromas of citric and grape fruits. Nice bitterness with nice malts bellow. Found this better then the 2014 edition

Poured into a teku glass from bottle showing a dark straw and practically opaque yellow with a very generous white foam head. The nose shows a lot of sweet malts, lemon zest along with small hints of brett. The palate is full bodied and very malty. The hops also give a sort of bright bitterness that appears on the end but well supported by a malt back-bone and sweetness. The finish also shows a quickly dissipating spiciness.

While I like very much the 2014 edition of that beer, I have to say I was quite disappointed by this one... So either the Sorachi Ace is not my favourite hop, or maybe the bottle is too old... Nose and taste are quite week, a strange raisin, almost champagne or white wine after taste, hops are weak... Drinkable but nothing more...

Deep yellow color, big white fast falling head, transparent, very nice lacing on the glass. Aroma very hoppy (grassy, crisp, citrus, spice, a bit yeasty, some caramel notes). Palate: high carbonation, full body, a bit oily, bitter hoppy finish, Taste: Spicy, nice intensive hops, medium bitterness at the end, notes of alcohol.

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2015 (Bottle 0.33 l / half of a bottle) Pure, pale gold colour, transparent. White, thick, medium sized head, medium fast falling to stable, thick foam. Medium body, moderate carbonation, a bit oily texture. Aroma is sweet with medium to strong aroma of spicy and grassy hops and medium notes of tropical fruits. Light aroma of pale malt. Moderate aroma of alcohol but not unpleasant. Taste: Medium hoppy, moderate alcohol, pleasant malty, not too strong sweetness, pale malts. Medium strong, very pleasant bitterness, long lasting. Finish is bitter, hoppy but unfortunatly a bit alcoholic. Interesting beer with hoppy character but definitly this bootle was too old, hoppy aromas are muffled.

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2015 Wonderful beer. Golden in colour with a slightly orange accent. The head is white and very dense. An initial maly taste turns into an overwhelming citrus and herbal taste due to the addition of the sorachi hops. Even better than a traditional Duvel!

Bottle from from Delhaize, Brugge - St Kruis, a good few months back, consumed at home, Sunday 28th December 2014 Pours gold with white head. A touch of spice and also some grapefruit on nose. Alcohol showing a little, not as fresh as could be (another beer sat forgotten in back of fridge) some citrus, pepper and a little pine, sweet and then bitter and dry. Good. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3
