I buy this beer a lot as it is one of the few good Belgians that are widely available in UK supermarkets. It has a sweet aroma of Belgian yeast and malt. The taste is quite bready, with malt & sugar. It has quite a sharp carbonation with a big foamy head. I find this beer pairs well with food, especially fish dishes. Overall, it is a good quality, strong Blonde beer but not top of the range for a Belgian IMO.

Clear pale piss yellow pour with a big white bubbly head. Aroma is basement yeast, wet dog, fruity hops, slight tropical fruits and light pilsner malts. Over medium sweet and halfway medium bitter. Medium body, over medium carbonation. Sweeter than I remembered it to be, still tasty, still a classic.

Butelka 0,33 l. Wypita 10.12.2017. Barwa złota, mętna. Aromaty kwiatowe. W smaku ładnie ukryty alkohol. Piękna biała, długo utrzymujaca się piana.

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2017 Duvel is one of the first strong Belgian ales that I ever tried, probably even before I tried craft beer. I recall sitting among the rocks at Start Point lighthouse, headphones on and an assortment of ales by my side. I’ll never forget that family holiday. Anyway, Duvel is the benchmark by which I tend to judge all other Belgian beers. Heavy yeast and alcoholic taste. Commands respect.

Taps clear topaz with a fairly thick eggshell head. Aroma presents pomme and fresh malt notes. Flavor delivers strong malty, pomme and yeast tones plus not-so-subtle resiny hops. Mouthfeel features fair body, peppy fizz, and a fruity and hoppy finish. Duvel ya wanna have some?

330ml bottle. Pours a pale golden yellow with a white head. Aroma: banana, cloves, mild citrus, wheat, sweet malt, very mild coriander. Taste: banana, sweet malt, wheat, mild citrus. Mild spicy aftertaste. Moderate to high carbonation. Mild sweetness, followed by a moderate lingering bitter finish. Full flavoured. Very tasty. Has a very dominating flavour palate. Not my favourite Belgian strong ale, but this is still a very good drop!
