Poured in a Duvel tulip. A - Hazy golden straw with 2 fingers of delicate white foam. Awesome retention and a ridiculous amount of lacing. S - Sweet grassy aroma, twangy Belgian yeast, soft grain, over ripened golden delicious apples at first, but as it warms up the acidity comes out make it more of a tart aroma. Unknown spice and hints of alcohol. T - Sweet grainy malt, spicy hops, some sourness comes through the middle, with tart apples in the background. It has an herbal bite towards the end. Finishes dry and slightly acidic. M - Medium body, moderate carbonation. Great yeast strain! The sour and acidic qualities really make this beer stand out. Its complex but focused. Pours with a bubbly and light white foam. Colour is nice slightly cloudy light gold. Aroma is fresh, elegant and sweet and has banana, orange, bubblegum and ocean. Palate is soda like with slight oiliness and very fine-bubbled carbonation. Taste has orange and some kind of exotic fruit (pineapple?), red Hubbabubba bubblegum as well. Almost no bitterness, nor noticeable hoppiness. Very light, but tasty. Very refreshing. Its an okay beer in its category, but does not become personal favorite.

Bottle at home. Pours clear, vivid golden with lots of white, bubbly foam. Yeasty, with sweet caramel, citrus peel, fresh herbs and spices. High carbonation. Good bitterness. There is sour notes in the taste, but only to complemet the rest. Highly drinkable.

Headache fodder albeit a beer that is less intimidating the more you try it. I remember having it on tap in Belgium around 15 years ago but recall nothing but the strength and the hangover. Bottled version is great. Boozy smell, cloudy look with massive head, lovely fruity bitter taste.

330ml bottle. Pours clear golden with large white head. Aroma of malts, yeasts, bananas, spices. Medium body with lively carbonation. Light bitter, light sweet and sour. Ok, but there are much better belgian ales.

Opaque yellow with thick, white head. Very excitable when poured. Aroma is heaps of malt and yeast, caramely and sweet with bread and a little hidden sour-ness. Lots of banana too. Taste is much sharper than aroma. Quite sour, then a bit boozy, then all biscuit malts on the finish. Some lingering bitterness too. Quite carbonated, which makes it light, but at the same time very smooth. Quintessential example of a Belgian beer.

It looked great in the glass and had a fantastic aroma, but for me the carbonation was just too much! There was a good flavour lurking somewhere, but the intense gassiness to the beer dominated everything. I struggled to finish and this is not a beer that I need to repeat.

Large 750ml bottle consumed with commonshawn after receiving it as a gift on Christmas. Straw golden color with a clear, filtered lean. Cloudy on the second glass. Healthy white head. Aroma is Belgian yeast, a little funk, and citrus (lemon?). Taste has a nice cereal grain and grass quality with an herbal spice and funk you expect from a Belgian offering. Theres a citrus characteristic and comfortable amount of sweetness. One of the old stand-bys when youre craving a Belgian tripel or strong pale ale. Maybe a slight metallic note at the finish but very smooth and drinkable.
