Bottle in the Dordogne. Spritzy and effervescent, with a good amount of yeasty spiciness. It reminds me of a Belgian saison, with a moderate bubblegum ester aroma and a cereal and pepper yeast profile that reminded me of a lot of traditional saisons. Light malt sweetness, much less than your average biere de garde. Nice, refreshing blond with a clear Belgian influence.

Can with a best before of February 21, 2018. Almost definitely the same beer as the slightly higher ABV Blonde BdG already listed. Pours with a clear, full yellow hued body with a medium size ivory head that lasts. Aromas are of cereal, spicy notes, hoppy, earthy, grassy, slightly musty, very lightly estery. Flavors are dry, with slight hint of pomme fruit esters, medium-light bitter, toasty, grainy, cereal, lightly musty. Somewhat hop forward (spicy, light citrus) for what I was expecting, lightly musty. Very slight isoamyl acetate in the finish. Lively carbonation, dry and slightly warming. Overall, a bit boring, a bit hoppy, crisp and easy to drink. Similar to a fresh Belgian Blonde, but with a bit more toasted malt notes and much more restrained esters.

Provence 12/5 2017. 75 cl bottle shared with friends. Pours clear yellow with dense white head. Settles as thin layer of foam. Moderate lacing. Aroma is sweetish. Orange, banana and earthy yeasty odoeur. Light carbonation and medium thick palate. Flavor is medium sweet followed by light bitterness. Aftertaste is well balanced between sweetness and bitterness. A fine French Blonde heavily inspired by their Belgian Cousins.

25cl bottle purchased @ Carrefour. Bonne bière du Nord avec un peu trop de levure.
