Golden amber hue with a creamy head. Orange, yeast and fruity nose. Orangey taste with pear fruit and yeast.

26-12-17 // 750ml bottle shared. Cloudy orange. Small head. Dry malty, medium sweet. Some grains. Yeasty. Light bitter. Drinking lighter than 7.5%.

The yeast makes this easily recognizable as a biere de garde. Opaque yellow wirh sedimwnt in the glass. Moderstely sweer, more yeast, some dist and cardboaed. Evem with the sugar, the finish is dry.

From Sep 2007 Bought as part of a mixed 6Pack. Pours from 120z bottle a hazy straw gold with a nice thick head of foam that shrank pretty slowly leaving a fine broken layer with lots of lacing. Btw, there's some floaties near the bottom of the bottle so I poured carefully to leave them there. The smell had good hoppy notes witha touch of spice. The taste was pretty tasty. There's some bready malt up front that gives way to some lemon citrus mid way through and it finishes slightly bitter with a medium mouthfeel and medium carbo. Not a bad brew at all and the 7.5%abv is well hidden. Note: There's a stamp on the label that says 09/2005 so this sample is pretty darned old but it was still a tasty brew. I'd like to try a fresher one for sure.

Bottle, sampled in a blind tasting, togetheer with DR beer. Served in black glassware. Boy, I was a bit off by what this beer was, but anyway, here's the Original rating : Smell is full, honey-like sweetness. spiced ( coriander ? ) Taste is sharp, spiced, very creamy mouthfeel. i’d say wheat, but it’s better than what i’m used to for wheat beers. subtile yet clear spicyness ( coriander , perhaps? not sure. Some orange factor. very different than what i’d think of when reading that though, this is not like a Belgian white. easy drinkable. Decent mf ( very silky ) rather low carbo. very, very aromatic base, of what I Assume is wheat.

Ar: Sherry and nougat; toasted malt; bruised peaches. Ap: Very deep gold and hazy; no head to speak of, just wisps of off-white bubbles. T: Deeply toasted malt with accents of banana, peach, and marmalade; sherry and nougat; bitterness is very low, with no accompanying hop flavor; a bit of oak, vanilla, and creme. P: Medium-full body with medium carbonation; finish is medium. O: This beer does not look that pretty in the glass, but it has some really nice flavor; the oxidized character is pronounced but not unpleasant, adding nice nougat and sherry notes; depth of malt flavor and rich mouthfeel are quite nice and the beer never comes across as cloying, just full.

Stubby from Intermarché in Bagnac. Rich golden colour, thick white foam. Quite rich slightly boozy malts, estery, spicy. Balanced bitterness. Quenched a thirst welll but just a hint of heaviness that suggests a session would be dangerous (funny that given abv!) Very enjoyable full flavoured blonde.

Benzai (16928) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - AUG 13, 2017
Bottle shared by my good friend Niels. Clear golden color, average sized white head. Smell and taste malts, lightly a touch of some underlying sourishness, yeasty, a hint of bitter in the distance. Average to decent body, average carbonation. Meh.
