COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Sebourg beer, this was rebaptized Saint Druon de Sebourg in 2000.
Malted barley and 3 varieties of hops grown in Alsace form the basis of this recipe, which, unlike Duyck’s other beers, also contains wheat from the Beauce region of France, milled in the traditional way by Sebourg’s miller. And to give it an even more distinctive flavour, the Duyck’s use a specific strain of yeast exclusive to the beer.
St. Druon de Sebourg is the French version of a blonde abbey ale, similar in style to those found across the nearby border in Belgium. It is spicy and effervescent, and much hoppier than typical bière de garde.

Light pour, fluffy white head. Straight forward caramel malt, light hops, some crackery notes, a bit of spice. Meh.

Bottle. Hazy deep golden colour. Yeasty sweetish fruity aroma. Good mouthfeel. Lovely sweet fruity yeasty and malty flavour.

Bottle from Super Saver. Gold pour with 1-finger creamy white head. Aroma of some funky yeast, hopcitrus, apricot, and slight florals. The taste is floral and hopcitric, with mid-palate yeasty funk and spice. This one gets a bit fruitier and less dry as it warms up.

leaparsons (10504) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JUN 29, 2005
Bottle. Light gold with a small white head of bubbles. Aromas are light and fruity with citrus, yeast and spices. Flavours are light, sweet buttery malts with citrus fruit. Lightly flavoured but still pleasant.

Maria (10212) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAR 1, 2007
75 cl. It’s stale with a lot of carbonation and a weak aroma. The flavour is stale with weak floral notes of clover and citrus. Boring and I have to give up before the bottle is empty...

marcus (10156) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAR 25, 2005
This golden ale pours with no head. There is an initially sweet hoppy flavor with a slightly bitter finish. A bit watery tasting at first, but the flavor intensifies as the beer warms.

750 ml bottle. Slightly hazy orange-kissed golden colour. Very thick sticky head. Aroma is quite earthy with a dank mustiness. Lots of basementy funky character. As it warms more sweet fruity character comes to the fore. Apricot, pear and apple along with a nice honey/caramel sweetness. Not really spicy per se, but the blend of fruit, fruit skins, and sweetness is quite compelling. A light herbal/grassy bitterness along with a white peppery bite. A bit of lemon and orange tartness as it starts to warm up. I quite like it.

bb (9241) - Alamo, California, USA - JAN 17, 2008
Bottle. Amber beer with an off-white head. Slight sweet malt, hay, skunky hop, and spice aroma. Slightly sweet malt flavor with good hop qualities (citrus and spice). Medium body. A bit of breadiness lingers with hops. Refreshing. Not bad.

3.3
blipp (9172) - La Mesa, California, USA - SEP 6, 2011
Draft. Pours gold with a white head. Bready and toffee sweet aroma with flowery notes and light spices. The flavor has sweet caramel malt, light bready notes, light flowery hops, and a hint of yeast. Not bad.
