Bottle, thanks to fredrik_and Ludvig!
Hazy pale golden with a small porous white head.
Aroma: buttery malt with tart green apples, some funk.
Taste: spices, sour, burnt plastic, some funk and lemons. On a positive note the alcohol isn’t apparent.
Above medium bodied.
Doesn’t work for me.
June 12, 2015 - with blankboy, jercraigs and mabel - big-ass green corked and caged bottle. 2006 vintage. Hazy orange with minimal head. Smells of alcohol and intense sour fruit, some white wine barrel - "I could smell this from a yard away!" "let’s test it!!!" Taste is ... erm ... sour sour sour - some acetic character, lemon full-on lemon/battery acid; whatever it’s good NOW; a little cannabis in there too? - it’s pungent anyway. Airy, acidic, slick, minimal carbonation - alcohol emerges more in the dry finish. I liked it - later that evening my stomach didn’t though. ClarkVV (6839) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - JUN 5, 2017

Wanted to hang on to this to see if the Duyster’s beer would lose its sweetness and hopefully the lambic would really take over. It’s still well-carbonated, with a big white head and a clear brassy-bronze golden body.
Tons of peach ester intermingled with alcohol, light lactic acid and lots of rich honey and caramel. There are still some off-notes, even after 11 years, including strong cotton candy, light saccharine and a bit of metal. Really just seems like a boozy tripel which has been pumped full of sugar. If the lambic has helped this at all, I certainly can’t tell.
In the mouth it fares even worse. Sugary and sweet with sharp alcohol and odd, almost vegetal-tinged acidity on the finish. Powdered sugar, heavy cotton candy, big peach and bubble gum esters, too much caramel...the list goes on....Lightly engaging carbonation and a syrupy, slick, sweet body. I remember this one being pretty gross when young but it looks like age didn’t help it either. Oh well.
Bottle - Vintage 2012 - Soured and apple and green grape. Glossy gold with a nice beige head. Sweet, light earthy and oak notes with an umame note. Odd. As it sits and warms the nose and taste to get better and more typical, but still not great. jgb9348 (6434) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - MAR 22, 2017
2012 Bottle (37,5 cL)
Clear and ever so slightly hazy bronze and copper coloured body with a very thin off-white head. Aroma of sour gueuze with a touch of yeast, bread, grain and alcohol, but finishing with the sourness - nice! Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence up front with a nice sour quality that hits up front and then shows a lot of the bread, yeast, grain, alcohol and very elegant grassy and biere de garde flavours that finishes with the added punch of a gueuze. Aftertaste is nice and pungent with the yeast and sour qualities, but very smooth, especially for the alcohol content, but makes sense with the age in the bottle and the sediment. Overall, a nice and rich, elegant beer that shows very nicely and has some great flavours and subdued, complex notes that only touch near the finale. Great to sample and well worth saving! I sampled this 37,5 cL corked and caged bottle as #9 of my set of 13 special tastings for celebrating #6000, with this one being extra special, since the vintage is the year of my first born kid! I sampled this 37,5 cL corked and caged (2012 bottle) purchased from Bier Tempel in Bruxelles, Belgium on 18-January-2015 for €3,50 sampled at home in Washington on the other side of the Atlantic on 21-March-2017. neepsntatties (2028) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAR 11, 2017
Bottle shared by "hannont". Colour...pale, cloudy gold with a thin head. Nose...funky, lightly putrid and mildly fruity with fresh peach and apricot. Palate...brisk, fresh and tart with a quick shot of fruit and funk and a rapid decline into a flat flavour profile.

Bottle shared 2012 vintage. Bit hazy golden with some small particles floating around. Sweet malts, hay, funk, unripe green berries, funky yeast and light spicy notes too. Almost medium sweet with underlying sourness and very light bitterness. Medium bodied with light alcoholic feel. Pretty nice! marcus (10571) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAY 22, 2016
2007 bottle at Heeren van Liedekercke. Pours golden with a bubbly white head and a sourish fruit aroma. There is a mellow, but rather flat sour malt flavor that is dry all the way through. Slightly bitter and quite interesting. Blended with 3 Fonteinen Gueuze by Lotsrbol.
