Tap at RJ. Aroma toasted malt, honey. Lightly hazy orange colour. Head of shorter to moderate duration. Taste has moderate hoppy bitterness right from beginning. Moderate honey flavour. Light hops flavour, grassy/herbal. Hoppy bitter finish, moderate duration. Some clean grainy maltiness too. Carbonation is moderate to high. Quite refreshing. Not your typical pilsner, but good and interesting. Slightly lower drinkability.

Back from a Czech Republic pub-crawl this is part of my express ratings for the “typical” Světlý 11°- (Czech light Pils), Světlý 12°+ (Czech Pils), Polotmavý (Czech Amber Lagers) and Tmavý (Czech Black Lagers). Non-typical beers will receive personalized descriptions after the express ratings.
-------- /> How: Tap at brewpub (Pivovarský Dvůr Chýně, Hostivice, Czech Republic)
The look: Partly cloudy golden blonde body with a large off-white head
To me a typical Czech Světlý 12° and above is: Well malted body with plenty of biscuits and cereals. Sweetness level is in the light-medium range with some honey flavours and a light caramel presence (3/4 honey, 1/4 caramel). Fruity flavour limited to a light citrus flavour. Medium carbonation. Finish is dry and moderately bitter with a light citric touch. After-taste of dry grassy/herbal hops with a light dry spiciness character.
This one: Take the above and dilute it with mineral water.

(draught 0,5l) Beer from barley and rye (30%) malt. Sweet malty aroma. Hazy golden color. Medium white creamy head. Very bitter. Creamy texture. Bitter, astringent and dusty in finish. Very good beer. My first rye malt beer, but I expected more diferent taste due to rye malt.

Jamedra (754) - Hostivice, CZECH REPUBLIC - NOV 8, 2013
Pípa, pivovarský dvůr, Chýně. Aroma je slabší, je znát po kvásku, žitu a cereáliích. Pěna je jasně bílá, jemná, vysoká a držící. Barva samotného piva je krásná zlatá. Chuť má slabší až střední říz, příjemný sladový střed s vcelku výrazným nádechem banánů a lehce kvasnic, okraje mají chutný, zakulacený, ovocný nádech, finiš je příjemně středně hořký a držící. Jedná se o opravdu výtečné pivo s příjemnou, vybalancovanou chutí a vysokou pitelností.
