My Bottom Line:TaktikMTL (7798) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 27, 2008
Honeyed cereals delve into dusty herbal hoppiness in this balanced and inoffensive Svetlé Lezak. This one sure won’t turn heads, but its idiosyncracies definitely point to this brewery’s signature and no one else’s.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-Thick foam dwindles into the hazy, orange-laced gold.
-The body is once again well built and the mouthfeel made for quaffability.
-Its hop bitterness is strangely not as compelling as that of their 10-degree’s.
-The malt personality could be better defined, to my tastes.
On tap at the brewpub.
(Rating #1527) Mowbeer (325) - Pilsen, CZECH REPUBLIC - SEP 13, 2012

Tap at RJ. Aroma toasted malt, honey. Lightly hazy orange colour. Head of shorter to moderate duration. Taste has moderate hoppy bitterness right from beginning. Moderate honey flavour. Light hops flavour, grassy/herbal. Hoppy bitter finish, moderate duration. Some clean grainy maltiness too. Carbonation is moderate to high. Quite refreshing. Not your typical pilsner, but good and interesting. Slightly lower drinkability. Cuso (8687) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - FEB 1, 2014

Back from a Czech Republic pub-crawl this is part of my express ratings for the “typical” Světlý 11°- (Czech light Pils), Světlý 12°+ (Czech Pils), Polotmavý (Czech Amber Lagers) and Tmavý (Czech Black Lagers). Non-typical beers will receive personalized descriptions after the express ratings.
How: Tap at brewpub (Pivovarský Dvůr Chýně, Hostivice, Czech Republic)
The look: Partly cloudy golden blonde body with a large off-white head
To me a typical Czech Světlý 12° and above is: Well malted body with plenty of biscuits and cereals. Sweetness level is in the light-medium range with some honey flavours and a light caramel presence (3/4 honey, 1/4 caramel). Fruity flavour limited to a light citrus flavour. Medium carbonation. Finish is dry and moderately bitter with a light citric touch. After-taste of dry grassy/herbal hops with a light dry spiciness character.
This one: Take the above and dilute it with mineral water.
