Re-rating of the new stronger version draught at Stockholm Beer Festival:madsberg (11762) - Søborg, DENMARK - JUL 26, 2003
Dark black, rich chocolatey aroma. Full bodied, and packed with flavour, coffee and licorice amongst others. Very bitter finish.
Rating of the 5.0% version in 2000:
Dark black. Full bodied. Rather dry, but not as dry as their Black Pearl. Creamy with bitter finish.
Draught: Pure black coloured. Head is huge and creamy. Aroma is roasty and coffeish. Flavour is roasted coffee with some toffee accents. Ends up in a faboulous bitterness on the palate. Last long. Definately better than Murphys and Guiness. Hildigöltur (5104) - København, DENMARK - OCT 28, 2002
A very flavourful stout. Tasty creamy head. Bitter with a powerful finish. DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAR 12, 2006

Cask Conditioned at The Horse & Groom, Caulcott. Dark black beer with red hints, tan head. Licorice flavours dominate, with coffee and some ripe fruit. Dark and bitter soul, a proper Irish Stout. Seek this one out if you can. Oakes (17274) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 12, 2000
Full body; decent flavour development; smooth palate. This is much better than Guinness. Ungstrup (37309) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUN 7, 2003
A black beer with a light creamy head. The aroma is smoked and sweet. The flavor is creamy and smoked from a good malt blend. It is very smooth for a smoked stout - great taste which makes it a good beer. rlgk (18847) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - SEP 22, 2003

Very dark with a nice creamy head. Has a sweet aroma. Flavor is a little coffee, and with some bitterness. Salty.
