Draft @ Barclays. Too carbonated and cold at first, it tasted like a big EKG flavor. As it warmed up the american hop complexities, pine, mango, citrus, started to emerge. Not a big pungent Columbus dry-hop bomb like a lot of newer IPAs, a bit more towards the citrus/pine aroma. Great low SRM value, very appropriate for the style. Nice full flavor without being too sweet, but there are some nice caramel notes (crystal 20L or below, I’d say, or perhaps carapils). Great IPA. Too bad EJ Phair probably won’t make another like this. Thanks James. ChillCoat (1029) - Concord, California, USA - AUG 27, 2007
Draft. Very clear copper color with a big ivory head. Big, resinous hop aromas. Pine, grapefruit and lemons. Dry and crisp. Very grapefruity, piney and florally. A hoppy IPA lovers IPA. bb (9790) - Alamo, California, USA - AUG 15, 2007
Draft. Amber beer wth a nice off-white head. Nice grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit flavor with smooth caramel backing. Not overly bitter, but good hop flavor. Nice full mouthfeel. Lingering grapefruit hops and caramel. Well made beer.
