Draft. Pours a bright, clear orange color; fine-bubbled white head with solid lacing. Lots of candied oranges, crystal malt, crystalline sugar in the aroma; like orange candy. Medium to medium-full body; relaxed CO2; no show of alcohol. Following the aroma, a whole lot of orange-laden hoppiness and crystal malt character / crystalline sugar, following the aroma; a bit heavy-handed on the crystal malt (I was tasting this an hour later), to the point of just coating the mouth; seems like a lot of Amarillo addtions, but, again, the crystal malt is distracting. Not surprisingly, a huge finish, as the bitterness and crystal maltiness invades your mouth and steals your soul. bb (9697) - Alamo, California, USA - JUN 21, 2011
Draft. Amber beer with a whitish head. Grapefruit and pine aroma. Pine, grapefruit, and light caramel flavor. Medium bodied. Pine and grapefruit linger. A nice not quite an IPA pale ale.
