Draft. Rich amber brown beer with a cream colored head. Big caramel/toffee aroma with light earthiness. Toffee/caramel flavor with light citrus and a light woodsiness. Medium-plus bodied. Toffee lingers with light berry and light citrus. A bit messy. Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - FEB 26, 2010
On tap at the Concord E.J. Phair brewpub pouring up hazy amber with bright copper edges and white head. The mild aroma pushes up notes of malt sweetness, malty estery dark fruitiness and a sense of floral and citrus hops. The taste begins both malty and hoppy with sweet malts, a touch of malt roastiness and caramel mixing with a blend of grapefruit, spice and floral hops. It tries to ratchet up the hop bitterness before sweet malts to caramel malts and a refreshingly dry malt roastiness finish it off. Tasty stuff.
