Bottle... Pours dark brown (nearly black) with a mid-sized, lightly tanned head. The aroma is evocative of brownie brittle soaked in espresso. I’ve never done it, but now I want to. Full-bodied and creamy with lazy carbonation. The flavor is big, hearty, chocolaty and bittersweet. Lengthy dark-mocha finish flanked by a burnt marshmallow aftertaste. Bottle provided by 50belair! 22 oz bottle poured into a snifter. Black with half a finger of tan head. Aromas of chocolate, caramel, lactose, subtle dark fruit. Tastes of dark chocolate, dark fruit, lactose, light roast. Medium body with a dry and slightly warm finish. Medium carbonation. JohnnyJ (5562) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 3, 2014
On draft. Near black pour, with a tan head. Lots of chocolate flavor, sweet lactose, licorice, dark chocolate, and notes of dark fruit. Not too sweet, decent. beersearcher (2382) - Glendale, California, USA - OCT 31, 2014
This is a big one. The imperial in the name is well used. But still retains those base flavors you would expect from a milk stout. There is a filling cream note here and loads of chocolate to me. Great backstory on the tanks as well. djd07 (14469) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUN 19, 2014
Bottle thanks to Rainer. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is strong dark chocolate, oak, and licorice. Medium mouthfeel with rich chocolate, and dark fruit, and black licorice. Very good.
