The pour is a clear golden color with a finger of white head. A definite adjunct aroma, seems like corn. Pale malts give a bit of sweetness and there’s a light apple ester. Faint floral hop notes, too. Sweet pale malt flavor with a little bit of apple and light fruit. Mild hops and a little bit of grass. Tap. Rating #3. Clear light gold, straw yellow pour with a white head. Crisp grainy aroma, it also has a certain richness to it. Light flavor, more grain and maybe just the slightest hint of butter. Pretty good overall though. (1977) beersearcher (2382) - Glendale, California, USA - SEP 21, 2011
Pretty solid Dortmund style. Pretty light. Some flowery notes before the malt takes over. Not sure why it is in the Dubbel category. More in the pilsner vein and quite nice. Pours yellow with a slight grain aroma. ekoerper (599) - Iowa, USA - SEP 14, 2011
Tap at the brewery. Aroma: grainy pils malts and subtle noble hops, very refreshing. Pours a faintly hazy straw-golden, average head retention and some lacing. Malty, grainy flavor, lots of pils showing through, slight mineral note, nice noble hop flavor , very easy to drink. Light-medium body and medium carbonation. I really enjoyed this one, it isn’t anything overwhelming flavor-wise, but it’s a great sessionable beer.
